Porter built a powerhouse at Akron and has been a rising star in US coaching circles for a while. He was a spectacular flop with the U-23 Olympic campaign, but with more time to build what he wants, he could be very good in Portland.

I like Porter. I like his style of play. He should be fine at Portland as long as they don't have too many Akron players.

Right now, he'd have one Akron player (Nagbe), who'm he called the "best player he's ever coached."

The Galaxy sign Christian Wilhelmsson but not as a DP.

In other news Federico Higuain is trolling MLS. Should be playing in La Liga.

Red Bulls signing Kaka's brother today, Digo, according to a league source, which can only increase the chances Kaka ends up with RBNY

Definitely trying to woo Kaka to NYRB in January it seems...

Honestly it still seems unlikely (someone has to take Marquez), but if it were to happen, I'd think it may be bigger than Beckham and Henry's signing (for on the field purposes).

Who would take Marquez. And wouldn't they just end up moving Cahill to get rid of a glut at that position.

Who knows who'd take Marquez (Chivas? Liga MX?), but if they were to unload Marquez and sign Kaka, I'd have to think that Le Toux would be the odd man out in NY.

I really like Sporting KC. They have so much talent. Sapong, Zusi, Kamara, Bunbury, Espinoza. Good keeper in Nielsen and maybe the best CB pairing in the league.

Sporting KC took us to the cleaners at the US Open cup semifinals, good team.

Playoffs are set.

East:
1. Sporting KC
2. D.C. United
3. Chicago
4. NY Red Bulls
5. Houston

West:
1. San Jose (Supporter's Shield)
2. Salt Lake
3. Seattle
4. Los Angeles
5. Vancouver (1st Canadian team to reach playoffs)

In other news, Wondo fell 1 goal short of tying MLS record for goals in a season.

Wouldn't mind seeing either KC or SJ win the cup. I really like both of those teams. Sucks the Crew just barely missed the playoffs.
