I expect a bigger game out of Russell this week. As others have said, lynch is set for big day against a defense that struggles with tackling discipline. They also have the same problems, from what I've seen, getting off the field as our defense does. The difference is they don't play anywhere near as well as we do on the first two downs. The threat of marshawn will be the key to Wilson having success. Playaction should be a huge part of our gameplan and should net us some opportunities down field, though you never know with our OC. Darrell bevell needs to stop taking lynch, and every other running back, out of the equation on third downs with these empty backfields and obvious passes. Beastmode is averaging a career best ypc right now, there's no reason he can't get it done on 3rd and short
Wilson is a bounce back type of player, and I think this dude will get done on Sunday. We need him to |

Gamble CB, Beason MLB, Hangartner G
Arguably 2 of their top 4 defensive players, and a starting oline could be out for this game. An already porous D, could be in for a rough day.
All I can hope is that our offense shows up. RW throws for 200+ yards and they finally open things up. _________________

Chris Gamble is one of the better corners in the game and should be able to lock down his side of the field against our pedestrian WRs. Charles Johnson is a monster off the edge and I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the backfield quite a bit. Russell Wilson, plain as day, is not a good QB. Yet. I don't see why anyone would expect him to take advantage of the Panthers after what we've seen from him so far.
The only bright spot of the offense this weekend will likely, once again, be Lynch and Turbin. Hopefully we use Turbin more.
Part me of is hoping we win this game something like 7-3 with the only touchdown coming off of a pick 6. This way there would be even more pressure to fire Bevell and start Flynn. |
Gamble is older and has lost a step. The Panthers are in desperate need of CB help. I understand what your saying about our receivers though and I agreed.
Charles Johnson is a concern. If they move him around we may be in trouble, but if he just plays opposite Okung, I have confidence that we can keep him in check.
I agree with your assessment of Wilson 110%. I am simply pointing out that this should be his last game, if he can't put up 20 points on the Panthers (regardless of what Pete thinks).
Agreed about Lynch and Turbin. The Panthers run defense is not good. That is our strength. I believe we should be able to hang at least 20 points on them strictly through the running game and perhaps a touchdown defensively (fingers crossed).
I agree 100% about hoping for a low scoring win, I just don't think it will happen. I believe Wilson does just enough to keep his job for another week, even though he won't be impressive. Pete will try to spin it like he was though. _________________ "People say you should always do the right thing, but sometimes there is no right thing. Gamble is only 29 years old and had perhaps the best season of his career in 2011. Not sure how you can say he's not an effective player. However, I digress since it appears he won't be playing anyways. _________________

I have us losing this one, I feel a mobile QB like Cam is going to shred us on the ground.
27 - 20 Panthers |

This is a must win for us I believe. Our division is too improved to be losing games this early in the season. _________________

I'm awake, so I'm ready to watch. I can't say that I'll force myself to be so active again, but I'll be posting often. |
