Everyone is making this about Vick. IT's all about the playcalling. It's not Vick's fault when they call 4 run plays for LeSean McCoy in the 1st half like they did vs the Cardinals. |

First the NFL schedule makers should be shot for this 5 week stretch of BS games facing teams with 10 days rest and coming off their Bye's to play the Eagles.
wk 4 NYG : coming off a TNG 10 days (W)
wk 5 Pit: coming off a Bye
wk 6 Det coming off a Bye
wk 8 ATL coming off a Bye (negating the Eagles Bye).
This game IMO will come down to Pressure and Protection which seems obvious but the truth. Not only do the eagles have to get to Ben early and often but they have to bring him down when they do. Same can be said for Vick. The Steelers can not allow him to escape the pocket and utilize his legs when scrambling. When he does that (ala NYG) last week it keeps the defense from pinning their ears back and going balls to the Walls at Vick. They have to account for the possibility of him just taking off which if were being honest is what made him so dangerous in 2010. He needs to get back to that but go out of bounds 9x10 instead of taking the hit. Big Ben I expect to be well Big Ben. That is escaping numerous attempts at a sack and or tackle to escape , buy time and hit a WR down the field on big plays. It's his bread and butter. If the eagles are able to have their way with the steelers Oline (not a given with dink and dunk type approaches) then the Steelers are in for a long day IMO. If Troy, Harrison and CO. are making Vick run around like a chicken with his head cut off, forcing passes ,taking abuse then it will be the Eagles that are in for a long day. Hence why IMO Pressure and Protection will dictate who wins this game come Sunday! _________________

He can't, or Andy doesn't allow him to.
Both of which is worrying. _________________

If Andy brings the sensible, logical plan that was used vs. the Giants then I can see the Eagles pulling through.
However, if he reverts to the pass happy tendencies that he has, then I can see the Steelers winning this. _________________

Vicks allowed to audible and does from time to time. However it's hard to audible out of a pass play when your OC calls 63 of them in a close game. If Marty doesn't keep the play calling within reason (not 70-30) Vick will be destroyed and have TO's. If the playcalling is closer to the 60-40, 55-45 range meaning the eagles are attempting to run the ball regardless of early success or not it will probably will be a different story altogether. _________________

anyone calling for the Steelers to win big obviously hasn't seen how the Eagles defense is playing this year |

Steelers, probably thanks to a last minute TD drive.
Because they're at home, because they are coming off a Bye, and because they like to annoy me. _________________

| The Steelers are 1-2, off a bye week, at home and gets Harrison back. NO WAY are they losing tomorrow to the Eagles and go 1-3. |

This game was a perfect example of what I was saying earlier.
Vick's turnovers are made even worse by the horrific playcalling at times.
That fumble on the goaline which was the difference in the game, was a horrendous playcall.
Use LeSean McCoy for crying out loud!
Andy Reid could have Jim Brown and he wouldn't even use him |
