Obviously cant land all of them but the BP needs help.

I would rather just keep Infante than add Kelly Johnson. Johnson shows flashes, but he is very inconsistent.

Only signed thru 2013 at 4 Mil a year. Not talking about replacing Infante. Just adding Johnson

Johnson is probably the #1 2B in a very weak class, so he would be a pretty expensive bench player. I would rather go after someone who can play multiple positions like Jeff Keppinger.

If you want multi position then Scutaro is the man even if a bit higher then Kep.

Scuatro could actually replace Peralta. Wont have same offensive bat but if they cant keep him I wouldnt be opposed

Verlander
Fister
Scherzer
Sanchez
Haren

Shocked Shocked

Then you can use Smyly as trade bait

Some people will hate on Haren but the dude has been fairly consistent.

So, SB potential is more important for a leadoff hitter than OBP? I completely disagree. Especially if we are moving him in favor of Shane Victorino. Shane's season best BA was in 2008 when he hit. 293. His season best OBP was in 2009 when he had .358.

Shane is the prototypical 5 hitter. Austin Jackson is a fine leadoff guy and the secind best in the AL.

Leadoff guys should get BB, hits, extra base hits and a decent amount of SB.

Jackson lack of speed and thefts is alarming

Leading the league in triples, good amount of doubles..... He is the prototypical lead off hitter. Steals are not part of being a lead off hitter. They are a bonus if they can but not needed. Like I said earlier, work with him on steals such as watching for more cues from pitchers, how to get a better jump.... His caught rate is not due to speed, it's due to not getting a good jump on the right pitch.

Yeah, I could care less about steals from my lead off as long as he's getting on-base. The only argument I could see for needing to move Jackson down in the order would be if his power numbers kept improving.

With his power, if we could put another player with high OBP ahead of him, that could psychologically lead to a higher propensity for the Tigers to produce more runs. But finding that guy wouldn't be easy, so I'm not gonna cry about it like I'm not gonna cry about not sleeping with Jennifer Lopez haha.

Sometimes teachers really [inappropriate/removed] me off. Just got done busting my rear on an assignment for a new class I am taking and the teachers explanation the grade is mind boggling.

Quote:
"Also, you did not have a description of how you went about doing this assignment. The things that I am trying to do is make students understand that they must document and explain to the reader how they went about doing this assignment with documentation and in text citations and a reference page at the and for each major assignment."

Um what?

This was a one page flyer with a mission statement for a local sports organization.

Why would I put HOW I went about doing the assignment IN the assignment. That would really not make any sense at all.

Also I did not use one website, book or any other reference. I literally sat at my computer, opened Microsoft Word and pounded this out. All the ideas, information and everything was original.

I guess I was supposed to use a citation in the middle of a flyer (one I would hand out to employees) saying 100% my idea.

Then the reference page I should have referenced myself as being the man!

Sorry end of rant but that ticked me off

Woot!

Aunt/Godmother called and asked me to look up info on playoff tickets that go on sale tomorrow. I told her I would, but the tickets will probably sell out in an hour or 2.

Looks like I might be going to a game next series if we can take out OAK Cool

Not really. First time I have had that feedback and working on my masters. No way you can do what was asked on a 1 page flyer.

Oh well

That's awesome. I am so hoping they get to the series. I'm attending the Seahawks game and if I could get to a Tigers series game at the same time I would be thrilled.

It's Canadian Thanksgiving today. One of my rituals is to sit quietly and think about all the good fortune I have been blessed with in my life, which is considerable.

One of those things I appreciate is the friendships made here that have extended outside the forum. I have a great deal of respect for each of you and I regret we didn't manage to organize a Lions Gate event this year.

I appreciate being however small a piece of your lives and to see pictures of the newest Wolverine and know Gunner will be arriving by Oct. 22nd thrills me.

Thank You.
