The question is simple, the answer is not.
I think as long as we have Pioli, we will not get a strong coaching candidate, so I think we will need too look at lesser known names, or guys that don't have HC experience.
For my money I'd love a guy like Cowher...but as I said above with Scott here I don't see any chance that happens.
Defensive names that I could see be in discussions:
Winston Moss
Dom Capers
Steve Spagnola
Ray Horton
Mike Nolan
Offensive names (don't know as many)
Josh McDaniels (puke)
Brian Daboll (would be the incumbent if Romeo gets the gate mid-season)
Mike Tice
Mike Sherman
Who do you guys want? |

Billick I think is too strong, but as you stated removing Pioli makes a difference. Without Pioli I think our list becomes much more broad based. I think then you have guys like...
Cowher
Billick
Gruden
Back into play. |

something to think about... Cowher is being OVERLY complimentary of the Chiefs today. Laying some groundwork kinda complimentary. _________________ Throw to score! Run to win!

Your team and ours are in the same boat, and ours has been floating in a pond since before Crennel was our HC. As you now know, he has no sense of game preparation. Not a bad DC (when he has a good D to work with) but he is not a HC. Any team that has him has a HC is just stuck in neutral. He looks like a deer in the headlights. |

86...literally just posted this in the game day thread. If Pioli and company are shown the door, it sure sounds like Cowher might be interested in coming back home. |

I'm very interested in Ray Horton. Don't have too many other opinions other than I would be alright with Cowher. _________________

Someone I've liked is Perry Fewell the DC with the Giants. While a 4-3 guy, I like his style and think he's adaptive enough to run an effective hybrid here.
Although, i still wanna see us with a halfway decent QB. I think Romeo deserves some credit for coming with a game plan that almost allowed us to beat the Ravens even with Cassel at QB. Im to the point that I believe Romeo is stuck with Cassel against his will. _________________

Brian Billick stated in an interview on 610 that he isn't coming back to coach. He said the game has changed to much since he coached last.
If we do get a new coach I still hope it is Cowher. Bring the man back home. |

Right now I'm just interested in Cowher. I want someone with a solid W-L record and experience. That's what we need. Wouldn't mind Gruden either, or Billick to a lesser extent.
I wish we'd just fire Crennel right now. It has became abundantly clear that he is not the man for a job. I'd love to keep him as a DC if possible. _________________ Sigbet with El Ramster; OKC wins title = I win. IND wins title = he wins. |

I like Horton, but the thought of another AZ person makes me nervous. Romeo had a decent game plan today, and hopefully as the season goes on it continues to improve.
But I have lots a lot almost all respect for Romeo, he coaches like a coward. Coaching not to lose rather than coaching to try and win. Just more of the same bend but don't break crap. |

Cutler06...if we dump Romeo only to hire McNuttbar...I will officially drop my fandom of the Chiefs. In my opinion that is just one more way Pioli would be proving he actually has very little football knowledge. |

I have been saying Ray Horton as HC. Familiar with the 3-4, although he utilizes a more aggressive version. Plus, everything I have heard from the Cardinals fans points to his ability to put the players in the right position to succeed and more importantly by all appearances the players have bought into his system and are playing sound defense. Also, from what I have read he has had some impressive head coaching interviews and essentially the thought among many people is that it is only a matter of time before he gets a head coaching opportunity.
Edit : Ray Horton, HC
Darren Perry, DC
Hugh Jackson, OC (or name another viable candidate)
Edit II : And JIM ZORN as QB coach!! _________________

Horton does look like a good HC candidate, but I just don't want a rookie HC again like we had with Haley who also came from AZ. You just don't know how well they will do.
I don't know which experienced coaches want to coach again. _________________ Sigbet with El Ramster; OKC wins title = I win. IND wins title = he wins. |
