I'm leaning towards him being taught a new position after what I saw from him against Denver. _________________

I was under the impression that his playing safety was a function of Gregory's absence more than a position change.
He certainly has the skill set to project as a safety, though I'd still prefer him to get a long look at CB _________________

If Dennard gets more opportunities to play going forward this year and succeeds that gives the Pats the option of sticking with him as the starting RCB. Likewise if Chung continues to struggle, that necessitates replacing him with someone, preferably someone who's better in coverage.
2012 likely won't be Dowling's year to emerge, but for 2013 he'll be a player to watch. _________________

I'm with you. I'm inclined to think he's still recovering from surgery. Assuming his hips are ok and he can return to his pre-draft athleticism... you give a player with his size/skills every chance to succeed at outside corner. _________________

IMO, even if Dennard is successful at RCB, best case scenario is Dowling (who was a LCB in college) could overtake McCourty at LCB and push him inside to nickel corner or to free safety. I think McCourty would do well at nickel, where he'd play more with receivers in front of him. _________________

Moving him inside would be a pretty big mistake IMO. _________________
