Perhaps I'm being over confident and I'm sure it will bite me in the behind, but I don't feel that the Seahawks at our house is nowhere near as dangerous as playing them in Seattle. Same with the Rams, when they come to visit, we seem to keep them in check. When we go there, it's a completely different story. _________________

I'm a little worried to play teams that are geared to match up with us. There was no doubt in my mind the Vikings had circled us on the calendar and wanted to make a statement, to the point of coming off a slow start, getting ready to play us instead. The Rams and Seahawks, and the Cards too, are teams who have circled us on their calendars and want to make a statement by trying to beat us. Those are dangerous games. They'll play us harder than other opponents. We can't take them ligthly. _________________

This hasn't quite been talked about yet (or I haven't quite looked hard enough for it yet), but we're also currently tied for 3rd in points scored this year (might fall to a tie for 4 if the Texans score 24 or more tonight...or if the Jets score 69).
We were 11th last year. _________________

Yep, and 6th in yards per game. I think I posted it earlier but we lead league in rushing and are 27th in passing. _________________

I have the Texans scoring over 24, so I think we'll fall to 4. _________________

Y2....
Why was that Alex Smith has the best rating in the NFL thread locked??
I could see that being a great thread with a lot of solid posts...
Yet it was locked and you said it was already being discussed here??
Yet I see no one actually discussing it here?
I apologize if I missed the convo I just didn't seem to see it if it's here? |

Last year was special teams putting us in good field position.
This year, our offense has been more productive. No question. We're not getting a great ST performance like we did last year. |

I guess we miss Costanzo and Colin Jones more than we knew?! It seems like those two took our STs plays with them! We havn't dominated any opposing teams STs like we did last year. It was fantastic to watch the Saints returns get absolutely crushed! _________________ fa·nat·ic (f-ntk) A person marked or motivated by an extreme, unreasoning enthusiasm, as for a cause.

I don't remember us punting quite as much as we did last year... that's gotta be a good thing, right? _________________

Red Zone Offense through 5 weeks:
Trips: 16
TDs: 11
FGs: 4*
No points: 1*
* on FG = One field goal within the opposing team's 20 isn't included because the kick was the only play actually in the red zone.
* on no points = The only time the 49ers made the red zone and didn't score was due to the team doing the victory formation. _________________ Welcome to the 9ers Q!

Briefly confused me on the Kaepernick reverse and subsequent fumble lost.. but that play started on the 26... so nevermind.
Good to read this, thanks! _________________
