Honestly, every time I looked at his stats I got surprised at how bad they were. He played A LOT better then the numbers, 1st down machine. _________________

Only went over 1,000 yards rushing/receiving yards twice in his career. I'm calling overrated on this one. Not that stats are the end all be all and he was definitely a good football player no doubt but just overrated in general. _________________

Rushing/receiving yards mean nothing when looking at the situations he was called into play in especially later in his career.
Some players most notably STers and backs such as Faulk are as valuable to their team as 1000yd rushers or receivers.
A player who can consistently convert 3rd downs is of unbelievable value to a team but is often dismissed by people such as you because they don't look good in the box score. |

No, they're often dismissed because it's not the least bit difficult to find someone who can replace them. The Pats offense experienced no dropoff whatsoever when Faulk was out of the lineup, and in fact put up significantly better numbers. That should tell you how valuable he was. _________________

| He was a good third down back but definitely not the GOAT. He wasn't even the best in his family. |

Ronnie Harmon was great and one of my favorite players, but to me what makes Faulk better was his blitz pick up.
But to me who is better, I don't care. Faulk did his job without complaint or asking for a spotlight. A great guy in the community, Playing for the Patriot softball team that plays all the local teams for charity. Charming and very respectful to young fans when I took my sons to see them. A guy that i am proud to have played on the patriots. |

Faulk was the Robert Horry of the NFL. Just without the travelling. The guy that was invisible until he did something his team really needed him to do right when they needed him to do it. And then... there he was.
I always loved the guy. _________________

I've long despised the Patriots, but Faulk is one of a handful of guys I just couldn't bring myself to hate. He's the perfect example of a veteran guy. Never complains, never holds out, shows up to work, is clutch whenever his team needs him, and lets the stars have the glory. He just picks up the Ws. Love this guy. Sad to see him go. _________________
