Not even his best film of the year!

What is? Killer Joe? Movie sucked aside from his performance in it. IMO

I watched Margaret (2010) the other day.

It's a film that has received some critical acclaim but has mostly flown under the radar. I found it to be uneven and sometimes aimless, but simultaneously very interesting and emotionally uncompromising. There is one scene in particular that takes place in a lady's kitchen that is itself a film gem. Anna Paquin gives a respectable performance as an extremely unlikable protagonist. It is a bit lengthy and it is a challenging watch; I can't decide if it is worthy of recommendation to most people.

Sinister. Scared the crap out of me and I never get scared by a movie. Best horror movie I've seen in a while. Pretty similar to Insidious but much better.

Last night I watched Battleship. I can see why it got pretty poor reviews. It took way too long to get going. It was almost 33 minutes, before anything remotely interesting took place. The acting was abyssmal and some scenes festered on, way too long and others were just flat out boring. I thought the special FX were very good, but the way they made the aliens look, reminded me of some of some rejected characters from that horrible Green Lantern film. The movie is like 2 hours and 10 minutes long, but it seems more like 3 hours.

While it wasn't the worst movie I've seen this year, it's near the bottom of the list. It was pretty disappointing. Rhianna deserves a Razzie Award for her performance. She's terrible. Laughing

You guys have too much invested in MM to make a reasonable analysis. Laughing

Go back to June. As soon as I got out of the movie, I posted that I loved it, and I don't think Apod or whoever else loved it(buzz?) had posted beir thoughts. I admit that I absolutely loved Magic Mike. Channing Tatum is a freaking star, and Matthew was great.

For the record:

Matt Bomar and Joe Manganeillo >>> Channing Tatum or Matthew

I enjoyed the movie, yes, but it's not as great as you three are making it. Laughing

I'd give it a solid 7.5 (which, conveniently, is about what Metascore gives it).

I prefer post 1990, but I'm fine with any era.
