Everyone seems to have him as there #1 safety and 1st round pick. All I've heard is that he's struggled this year. He didn't look like anything special against Florida. Took some bad angles and didn't make any plays.
Matt Elam clearly outplayed him in that game. I know it's one game, but Elam looked like a stud.
So can someone explain to me why everyone has Reid so high and not much love from Elam? What are Reid's strengths/weaknesses? In overall the major scheme of things, where do these 2 guys fit into the safety class of 2013? Is Reid miles better than everyone else or just somewhat better? |

Reid is having somewhat of a down season...in his defense he is now playing in a secondary with virtually no experience having lost Claiborne, Taylor, and Brooks to the NFL and Mathieu to suspension.
It is probably alot easier when you only have to worry about your job and have the freedom to roam and make plays...Reid no longer has that luxury and has gone from 4th on the DB list of guys to gameplan against to 1st. |

Tony Jefferson is the best safety in this draft. I'll stand by that until he proves me wrong. _________________

He is still #1 on my list. That whole defense hasn't had the year so far everyone expected they would have. _________________

Random observation while flipping back and forth between several games right now : Eric Reid has really long arms. _________________

Its only him and Simon returning. Loston played a lot but Taylor was pretty good. And Mills is so inexperienced he has to do a lot of work. _________________

| He seemingly looked better this week against SC. Made a few nice plays coming up to stop some runs. I was only able to watch the first half and didn't see much of him in coverage. Anyone else watch the game and have some thoughts? |

It was more that Jefferson hasn't done anything to drop from #1, and I tend to agree with him. Jefferson has been the best draft eligible safety this year and he's my top ranked safety. Elam has played well the last couple of weeks and is moving up the board. _________________

LOL at T.J being anywhere near a top 3 safety. Kid is getting way overhyped. _________________

Scouts seem to have a higher opinion of him than draftniks, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he went top 25. _________________ I personally guarantee the Ravens will have a better record this year than last. |
