I think it's pretty stupid to say this makes the trade better for the Giants now. The Chargers got a really good kicker for a lot of years in that deal. Was he supposed to stay on the team forever?
It's silly to bash San Diego for that deal anyway. Not like they had a choice. Eli refused to play for them, remember? _________________

I also remember the Raiders had said they would have taken Eli had the Chargers not taken him. So we got Gallery @ #2
I think it was an even trade for both teams. Eli hasn't lived up to Peyton's status, he's just got two SB's with a great team playing hot at that time. Remins me of baseball and the SF Giants the past two titles. You don't have to be the best, just the hottest/momo team. Saints, Packers...We all know that Eli's first SB was punishment from the football God's because of spygate and Randy Moss curse. |

Say what you want, ultimately that trade would be measured by Super Bowls, and the Giants have won it hands down thus far.
If Rivers can somehow revive himself, and win two Super Bowls for the Chargers, then it could swing it back to even / back in their favor, but as of right now, regardless of them releasing Kaeding, the Giants won. _________________

I'm sure he'll be kicking for another team soon. These guys usually get another shot. Hell, even Vanderjagt was given a few chances after his Indy flameout. Very similar career path actually, minus being hated for Kaeding of course. _________________

Had a teacher that roomed with him his freshman year at Iowa. Said the dude was kinda a richard. I didn't like that teacher so I always rooted for him. Sad day. _________________

Vanderjagt didn't really have a flameout. He was just terrible under any sort of pressure. _________________

How can anyone fault San Diego for that trade? They didn't have a choice. Eli was a huuuuuuge baby about the whole thing. Dude pouted when he was the first pick of the NFL draft and was headed for San Diego. It was the most pathetic thing in sports since John Elway.
He was going to play for San Diego, and the Chargers got a lot of value in return. Sure, Manning's value has exceeded what the Chargers got. But what choice did they have. |

Tough luck for him.
I don't watch much SDC football, but Nick Novak is the team's only kicker now, right? _________________

Think Kaeding could get a few looks by a team who are looking for a new kicker. Washington perhaps? _________________ I bought one of those tapes to teach you Spanish in your sleep. During the night, the tape skipped. Now I can only stutter in Spanish.

Really? I thought Kai Forbath has been awesome this season! He's 100% for his field goals so far and 5-5 on FGs longer than 40 yards. Why in the world would they even think about signing Kaeding? Not even as a waterboy at this point. |

I don't see how this "balances" the trade any better.
Leaving aside player value, people are talking as if San Diego made that deal when in truth it was forced upon them by a temper-tantrum. _________________ Adopt-a-Pat
