I know it's early and I know we are 8-1. However, I'm still in the mood to do a mock draft. I have us with pick #32 in each round:
1 - LB Chase Thomas - 6'4" 248 - Stanford (Walton HS, Marietta, GA)
Yes, I know we need a DE, however, Thomas can play MLB, DE, OLB pretty much anywhere in the front 7 outside of DT. That's the exact kind of player we need for the 3rd linebacker and a pass rushing spot. I'd have him start at either middle linebacker or strongside and have Nicholas in the middle then move him to DE on third downs. His versatility combined with Nicholas, Weatherspoon, Abraham and Biermann could give the Falcons a scary LB corps. Thomas could take over in the middle from day one, while Dent would move back to his backup role.
2 - TE Zach Ertz - 6'6" 252 - Stanford (Alamo, CA)
3 - RB Mike Gillislee - 5'11" 210 - Florida (Deland, FL)
4a - OT Brennan Williams - 6'7" 310 - North Carolina (West Roxbury, MA)
4b (comp Lofton) - QB Mike Glennon - 6'6" 232 - North Carolina State (Centerville, VA)
5 - WR Tavarres King - 6'1" 200 - Georgia (Mt. Airy, GA)
6 - CB/PR Dustin Harris - 6'0" 175 - Texas A&M (Livingston, TX)
7 - DT T.J. Barnes - 6'7" 345 - Georgia Tech (Enterprise, AL)
UDFA - LB Justin Tuggle - 6'3" 233 - Kansas State (Alpharetta, GA) _________________

Draft isn't bad, I wouldnt draft a QB in the 4th. Glennon isn't worth a 4th. Maybe a late 5th or 6th. Not a 4th. No DE??? If that happens again this year I will be really questioning managment. I have questions about Tavarres King's ability at the next level. But overall not bad. _________________

Thomas is a 3-4 OLB. How in any sort of way would that transfer to a 4-3 MLB. He doesn't have the athletic ability to play LB IMO. Think he could play DE and reminds me of a less athletic Brooks Reed with slightly better form and awareness right out if college. I say get a true DE there if that's the way you want to go on round one. That's all opinion open to change by the way as I haven't hit hardcore scout mode yet for this years footage.
Anyways the only other problem I have is Glennon in the fourth. The dude is a slightly better version of his brother IMO. I say go DT there and QB late in the DT in the 7ths spot, or even another TE, LB, or S late. _________________

Not to bad bro but i think the one me and you did together yesterday was better overall XD Also i like that you seen Barnes as a 7th round pick now instead of 4th like yesterday talked ya into that a little did i . _________________

Nice draft man.
Also i have an idea. We should have a pass blocking squad and a run blocking squad and rotate them. _________________

No, just no.
I get that Thomas would be a hometown guy but he doesn't translate to this defense at all. We don't have the personnel for a 3-4, and i don't even know if we're moving in that direction, and that's what Thomas is best for.
There will be a lot better guys out there then Glendon as well |

In the first round of the draft I feel we should go Oline
Preferably Barrett Jones
- The guy can play ANY position on the offensive line and at a very high level at that. Excelled at Guard, was an All-American at Tackle, and is playing great at Center. Versatility is perfect and he would be a conerstone of our oline along with Peter Konz for years to come
If Jones isnt there we should shoot for DE Alex Okafor |

Glennon actually is a good quarterback with good pro potential. Idk about taking a QB in the fourth, but I would like to have Glennon. He reminds me of Foles, maybe even better. _________________ Adopt a Falcon: Julio Quintorris Lopez Jones

I dont understand taking a QB. We do need a backup QB but Dominique Davis has shown promise and we have many other needs to fill that should be higher in priority |

Taking a back like Kenjon Barner or Orwin Smith would be great b/c Turner isn't cutting it anymore and I don't see Rogers being able to carry a full season work load. I'm not real high on Snelling either... |

Holy crap that T.J. Barnes dude is huge. Reminds me of TURDell Sands.
I think if we don't bring in Justin Tuggle at least for a try out, it would be a disgrace. _________________

ATL makes a splash in free agency every year, what guy would you throw in to complement your draft? |

How about a guy like Terrance Knighton (JAC) - NT
He is a pretty nasty run stopper. _________________
