Can someone explain to me why almost every American male who wear hats or caps,also wear them indoors? To me, it looks horrible,out of place etc. )

Because they're are trying to be stylish (failing I might add) or they're balding.
Im gonna go with the latter on most occasions. Also guys aged 16-24(ish) really like to bring out their inner tool at one point in their life time.
