Huh?

It's called Wikipedia Very Happy if you wiki something and it's still not famous, then a huh is called for. But to be fair if it weren't for the three film classes I took in college he probably wouldn't be on my radar.

The huh wasn't because I don't know who Godard is. I'm a gigantic fan of his. The huh? was because he's not deceased, and putting him on a top 10 list of the best deceased film directors seems to be asking for trouble.

You disgust me.

I'm not going to say any of those directors are not legends in their own right. But all ahead of Kubrick? Explain yourself!

He's still alive? I did not know that.

I don't get it. How were you trolled?

ignoring that Corman is an obvious joke entry, what school produced you where 1=10 ?

If you're going to ask a dumb question then at least word it better than a 9 year old.

I don't put Kubrick on the same pedestal that you do. I consider him a masterfully talented director but I don't think all of his films were great or even close(some like Lolita for example are pretty unremarkable one way or the other). I consider films like The Shining and especially Dr. Strangelove to be overrated. What's more from the perspective of who contributed more(whether actually innovations or just raising the standards of the industry or whatever) I don't think Stanley Kubrick is even in the same breath as any of the people I mentioned. Finally from a matter of purely personal taste, none of his films are favorites of mine.

I can see why he's so respected though, and I don't particulary disagree(except with praise for Dr. Strangelove). But he's not in my top ten.

The only director who I would talk about in the type of language you use to describe Kubrick is Griffith.
