Drew Brees and Eli Manning threw for over 20 picks in one season? Can win with them. (for the record, both these guys have more picks than Palmer this season)
Peyton Manning threw 19 and 23 INT's in back to back seasons? Can't win with a guy like that...
Build something around Palmer that even resembles an NFL team, and you can win with him...Just my opinion. And no, I'm not saying he is on any of those guys level, just pointing out the irony and hypocrisy of your statement, especially when you consider all of those guys have thrown more picks in one season then Palmer ever has in a single season. |
beautiful post!
could you imagine oak with even a top 15 defense and palmer at the helm
a defense that makes stops and doesnt give up 21 points to start the 2nd
half of almost every game?
would be right there with denver if so |

And his efficiency would be better as a result. 3rd down distances would be shorter, defenses wouldn't be keying on the pass, and he'd be able to run play-action, which is one of the strongest parts of his game. |
Just to add to this, the only QB's capable of winning with the circumstances being talked about are Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady. _________________

maybe cp and dmac just arent compatible. its weird how it seems that goody is more effective with cp compared to dmac. its just hard to explain dmacs slump this year. yea we can blame knapp and the scheme. but fargas and co got it done with half of what we have this year. idk but something or some people arent compatible. _________________

McFadden just plain and simply is not a zone RB. Period. If that is what we are committed to then we can find a less expensive option in free agency or inthe draft. We should make that move as soon as he is healthy this offseason. _________________

Maybe McFadden's overrated?? Three crappy seasons, one good season, one season that was looking to be good but wasn't completed..... it's just a thought _________________

its boggling how a top flight rb can turn to crap in a zbs and a lesser known rb can thrive in it. but a lesser known rb can also thrive in a pbs. _________________

Or maybe he turned the corner in the PBS, then Knapp's ineptitude took over the offense and everything's gone to shi? Makes more sense to me. _________________

What great running backs have struggled depending on the scheme? _________________

Marshawn Lynch, Reggie Bush and Willis McGahee seem like good answers to your question BTW. _________________

Great QB's make the team around them better.
With Manning, Brady, Brees, or one of the franchise backs we'd be at least 500. Palmer has kept us in games, franchise QB's get you over the hump and win the close games. |

But the Saints aren't .500. Neither are the Lions and Cowboys. Football's a team sport. _________________

Holy, I agree with JTagg some what....McFadden is overrated to me. He's fast and powerful and is hard to bring down, but...
He He lacks vision and patience to find the holes. He loses a gear when he cuts and when he does find a hold and tries to cut he slips, a lot.
Plus he is always injured. The offense is built around him and he’s lost every year for a few games or more.
Back to Palmer; to those that love him, what do you expect or what do you want. He is going to be 33 in a month….we pay him a lot. This team is a few years away from turning into a contender and then he will be 35 going to be 36 before we could even think about making it to the post season….then what? He is better than any QB we’d have for years, but will never win the big game…You guys want to build around him and keep him for years.
I myself want us to find a franchise QB that we could develop and build around. It may not be in this draft or during free agency, but I don’t want Carson Palmer to be our franchise QB because I want this team to go to the play-offs and win play-off games.
You guys kill me too, You keep saying IF they had a great running game, IF they had a good offensive line, IF they had a great defense….isn’t that what every team wants and needs to win games??? That is the goal of all teams to have a great everything…well it’s expensive to have your entire team to be great and there is a salary cap…every team misses some aspect they need.
You guys keep cheering every week for the QB that keeps it interesting, keeps us in the games, and racks up the passing yards….I want more |

Romo??? I never said anything about him being a franchise QB.
Saints will be .500 after this week and they just beat the Falcons...the team that Palmer gave the game to. |
