I was having this debate with my friend the other day and wanted to post the question in here. Who, in your opinion, are the top 5 players in the English Premier League?
In no particular order, mine would be;
Van Persie
Rooney
Aguero
Mata
Bale
Go.

I think it depends if you mean in a sort of at their best standard.
I'd agree with Van Persie, Rooney, Aguero, and Bale either way.
The other would be between Mata, Suarez, and Silva. I think Silva is the best of the 3 when he is at his best but he doesn't tend to sustain his best for too long. Mata I think is the most consistent of the three but the worst of three if all are at their best (still a great player). Suarez splits the difference of skill at their best and prolonged play at that level so I'd probably put him as my 5th.
Kompany hasn't impressed me much this season which is why I don't have him up there. He definitely would have been if you asked me after last season.

I went mostly on current form.. Kompany is obviously a top 5 caliber player but Man City has been a bit leakier at the back this season, as has everyone really so I opted not to have any defenders in there for current form. I did kind of forget about Fellani and some other guys; I hate doing lists

Carzola
Rooney
Mata
Yaya
Wanted to get cute and put Fellani in there but Yaya's a tank, same with Suarez.

I wasn't debating current form. I'm just saying what player would you prefer.
The number of people picking Cazorla is dumb. He is the worst of the three Spanish CMs imo. I can understand the Suarez, Toure and Kompany arguments, but Cazorla is not a top 5 EPL player.

Yeah. I'm a HUGE Cazorla fan, but he is not top 5 in the EPL.
RVP, Rooney, Aguero, Mata, and Silva are the 5 that popped into my head.
