http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/11/29/lions-benched-titus-young-for-sabotaging-their-passing-offense/
Quote: | Per Birkett, Young purposely lined up in the wrong place on the field “multiple times” during the Lions’ Week Eleven loss to Green Bay. He also “mouthed off” to receivers coach Shawn Jefferson before being benched for the final possession. Apparently upset that he wasn’t getting enough passes thrown his way, Young responded by attempting to sabotage the Lions’ passing offense.
Young’s teammates understandably don’t have his back anymore; top wideout Calvin Johnson indicated after the Thanksgiving game that he anticipates the Lions moving forward with rookie Ryan Broyles and newly acquired Mike Thomas in the lineup. |
This is pretty unbelievable stuff here folks, what should be done with Titus Young, what would you want done if a player did this on your team?
Safe to say the Lions players and coaches are pretty much done with this guy. _________________ Follow me on Twitter @CalhounLambeau |

This is one of the more incredible stories I've heard, absolutely unacceptable and if true he should be out of the league. _________________

Not news, but discussion worthy. I'll get it into Gen.
Given this, I can't say that his marketability as a trade asset or a FA would be much, if anything. It's rare you see someone completely shoot themselves in the foot with a Desert Eagle .50, but this is an example of it.
CFL, say hello to Titus Young. He seems like he'd be a nice fit for those wide open CFL offenses... _________________

*Obligatory Plaxico Burress joke*
This isn't the first time Young got in trouble for his selfish antics. You'd think becoming a father this year would have put things into perspective, but if he doesn't get his act together, he might not have a way to provide for his son. _________________

He is taking the "Diva" notion to the nth degree.
News flash Titus Young. You're not that good. Sorry bro.
I can see him being picked up by a team but getting cut in preseason and bouncing around the league before he eventually moves to the UFL or CFL. _________________

as awful as this is...I still think he will play in the NFL, probably not with the Lions, but some team will pick him up.
he is a recent 2nd round pick, who has some talent. If you think 31 teams are going to let him sit in free agency for good, you are crazy. _________________

I honestly can't believe this happened.
I mean, it's funny, yet also incredibly sad at the same time.
What a piece of ****
Sorry you aren't getting a ton of looks, because you play across from the BEST WR IN THE LEAGUE. CLOWN _________________

No shots. It just seems like something that would happen with the Lions. |

JaMarcus Russell was a recent #1 pick overall, who had talent. To my knowledge, he has yet to get a call from anyone.
Rusell was fat and lazy, yes...but he didn't openly try to ruin his teams' chances by doing the wrong thing because he was upset. Actively trying to ruin your teammates chances is far worse than eating too many egg sandwiches and getting to 300+ lbs... _________________
