That game had to have some of the worst reffing I've ever seen. Atkinson should be ashamed.

Yeh you are right. A legitimate goal and stone wall penalty not given nearly cost us the game.

After watching it I never saw where Zabaleta was before. Yep, a bad call. Agree with the penalty. Thought that was an obvious call.

I just don't understand how Smalling can get away with the blatant handling of the ball and how Rio kicking Tevez in the face is only a yellow.

Just all around bad.

Agreed about the Smalling handball (two of them technically in the space of 2 seconds) but Rio was going for the ball. There was no malice in it. The same can't be said for Tevez booting Phil Jones right at the end of the game, right in front of the 4th official.

I legitimately don't understand the whole how deal with how things should be carded. Whether or not Rio was going for the ball isn't the problem. The problem being he connected his foot with Tevez's face. I don't know. Seems dangerous if you let players in the game if they do that with just getting a yellow card. I don't think Joe Allen tried to block the ball with his arm, but it was still called and I thought it was the right call to award the penalty.

This is all pretty confusing to me.

Honestly it was pretty average
Schwarzer looked like he was going for damn cross or something.

Took a bit of a deflection off Riise, probably why Mark Schwarzer was so surprised.

This is Newcastle's game. We've fallen apart.

Like that Danny Simpson is getting forward but he needs to actually start getting to the by-line.

I'd love to see Frei come on. I think he could give Simpson a torrid time.
