Ehhh, not sure about Joe Staley. Minus one subpar game against the Packers he's been good, but I don't know about Top 5 status. _________________

If Peters were healthy...he would absolutely be on most people's top 5 lists....He was probably the best LT in the NFL last year. Can't wait to get him back next season...It is literally, actually fun to watch him play..dude just mauls defenders...
For this year....
In no order...
Ryan Clady
Brandon Albert
Duane Brown
Trent Williams
Joe Thomas
Andrew Whitworth, Nate Solder, Russell Okung, and Matt Kalil all get honorable mentions.
Surprised to see Jake Long has given up 6 sacks this year...guess Miami's new ZBS really isn't for him.
Also interesting how many great tackles are Free Agents this year....You have Clady, Albert, and Long at LT and Andre Smith and Sebastian Vollmer at RT..... _________________

Unless you've actually seen every sack an offensive tackle has "given up", then it's stupid to comment on it. How often is it the QB's fault? _________________

I think this makes Alberts one sack given up highly impressive since he's gotta protect Cassel and Quinn. Cassel at least is notorious for holding onto the ball forever and a day. _________________

He hasn't. He's allowed 1 sack this season. |
Not according to this.

which is where I got all the others... |
That site is wrong. I've only missed 1 game this season and Kalil didn't give up a sack in that game. |

Jason Peters is getting real mad just looking at this thread. Next year he's gonna come back and re-claim his rightful spot as the best LT in the league |

I read an article online last week (PFF?) that said Kalil had given up two sacks on the year.
Was he bad against GB? I didn't watch as much as I wanted | No we literally did not touch Christian Ponder all game. No way it came in the Green Bay game. Honestly I don't even remember when he gave up 1 sack and I have watched a lot of Vikings football. You can mark my words, that's a HOF LT. Hate to say it but it's true. |

Jake Long has struggled this year with injuries and a new scheme but the "sacks allowed" argument is kind of irritating. Statistics with no understanding of context or how it actually happened is useless. That "sacks allowed" list is totally pointless and quite frankly it's dumb to base rankings off of it. _________________
