Would be okay with this as a DH. |

Have you seen their team? Not exactly a shock. |
I actually hadn't seem it, which is probably why. I didn't realize that they got Jose Reyes and others _________________

I agree. Seattle is IMO the most likely destination. And I think BillsGuy82, he's referring to the shortstop demand. A deal starting with Taijuan Walker and then two or three other prospects from the Mariners farm system could be pretty appealing. _________________

Like Walker, Franklin and Paxton maybe.. Arizona still gets a soon to be MLB ready SS if Franklin projects as a MLB SS that is. |

Coming of the year he did, no way Upton lands 3 prospects that highly rated.
At best, the D'backs may get 2 of those 3. _________________

If the Diamondbacks do move Justin Upton, it's not going to be at the 2.5 WAR season he put up this past season. It's going to be at the value of the 6.4 WAR season he posted in 2011. I wouldn't be surprised if the DBacks started asking for Walker, Hultzen, and one more top Mariners prospect (not Franklin or Paxton, probably Brad Miller). _________________

Walker, Hultzen, Miller
Or
Walker, Franklin, Paxton
The reason why I think Franklin is involved is because it the SS they could want back. Walker and Hultzen is a steep price IMO. But I agree the DBacks will want more than the 2.5 WAR he just but up.
Seattle needs him pretty badly looking at what they are on cusp of |

If we thought he was being moved at the value of a 2 win OF then Walker wouldn't be brought up in this conversation.
But he's also not going to bring back the value of his potential either. (Unless the D'backs hold onto him, and he puts up another year like that) His value will probably end up somewhere in between.
Walker, Franklin, & another decent piece or two. _________________

| Why would the D'Backs want to get another young SS? They just got Didi Gregorius in the Trevor Bauer trade. Seems to me they view him as their future SS. |

Franklin could flip positions IIRC. And a lot don't even think Gregarious is that good. _________________

Taijuan Walker, an interesting middle infield and a small piece isn't going to get it done. Taijuan Walker doesn't have that kind of value. If Trevor Bauer can fetch Shin Soo-Choo, it's going to take quite a bit more than Walker to get Justin Upton given that Upton is younger, locked into a pretty team-friendly deal, and is an overall better player. If that's where the Mariners draw the sand in the line in talks with Diamondbacks, I don't think they're getting Upton. _________________
