1) I'm guessing the majority of the "SEC HATE" has to do with the slurpfest by ESPN and random SEC fans chanting and talking about how great the SEC is when their team has little to nothing to do with the greatness of the SEC.

4) Doesn't fit every SEC game and goes into part of the "SEC Hate" Is Mississippi State-Missouri a "hard nosed game"? Maybe, probably not though. Yet people will talk about how awesome the SEC is and be talking about that game just because it is SEC. And the "aww your just jealous " crap is similar - overreactions and crap.
5) Do you really "love" the SEC? Why? Were you sitting there watching your team get blown out thinking "Boy, I sure do love the SEC?" If so, why? Loving the SEC is not the same as respecting them. Not liking/hating the SEC doesn't mean you don't respect them.
6) ESPN is one of the biggest problems with the SEC "discussion." |
Spoken like a typical Michigan fan whos program is no where good enough to compete.
Yes, it was disheartening to see Ohio State get stomped by LSU and Florida but since the beginning of my football watching I have been an SEC fan. Going back to the early 90s when I first started watching football I saw and SEC game on TV and that was the game I chose over any other game.
Your team lacks excitement and cannot compete with the big dogs so you hate on them and think every one else should too. Fact is I don't hate the SEC for beating Ohio State they are simply better. Ya know kind of how Ohio State is just simply better than Michigan. |

Yes. But there are still people who act like that (I've pointed it out here before, with examples of my own fan base)
But to defend that, I feel like a good amount of fans believe all fans of SEC schools are like that.
It wouldn't be a joke if there weren't people that actually acted like that.

People are just frustrated and want to see someone else win a BCS Title. Mark my words once someone from the Big Ten/ACC/Pac 12 etc, win the title game the hate will die.

The SEC does have lower academic standards, which most likely does make it easier to recruit and maintain talented rosters.
Graduation rates in the SEC compared to other conferances is also lagging. They can be known for their sports domination, other conferances have their strengths as well.

the bcs academic ranking (not sure how there measured) showed 3-4 sec schools in the top 20 this year |

And I think this kind of proves the point that some people just hate the SEC. No one had posted in the this thread of almost 3 weeks before the SEC had played a single bowl game, but of course it gets bumped when they drop to 3-3 in bowl games. |
