Quote:
The Jets defensive end said Friday on WFAN that he feels bad about how things “went down” between the team and Tim Tebow and wishes the much-maligned quarterback got more of an opportunity to play.
“I would have liked to see him get a chance,” DeVito told hosts Evan Roberts and Joe Benigno.

“I think he’s a great leader, I think he’s a guy that could have won games for us, and I think that’s why we had him here,” DeVito said. … “I really do feel like with Tim at the helm, there is an aspect of it that you can’t really put into words, but guys just want to rally behind him. And when you put Tim in that leadership role, that’s where he excels … I think (if) you put Tim in there, I think we win games. I really believe that.”

Hard to disagree with him. He couldn't have been worse than Sanchez and he is a Leader and winner.

Big props to Big Mike for saying it, I wonder how many other players on the defensive side of the ball echo those sentiments.

Pretty much guarantees that DeVito won't be re-signing after the season.

Why? Finally someone didn't go 'anonymous'...

So speaking the truth isn't something the Jets want in their locker rooms? Instead they prefer "anonymous" players and coaches going to the media and backstabbing their teammates?

The season is over. Stop talking about Tim Tebow. He didn't play and he's going to go elsewhere.

It shows that he probably doesn't want to be back with the team next season.

The Tebow hate is strong with this one.

There is no question that he was the best chance for you guys to win games. Not sure why he would be punished for saying it. We all knew it.

I'm not saying he would be punished, but I doubt he would say this if he wasn't going to be a FA.

I mean he can win... but it takes 45 minutes into a game for that to begin. He can't be worse than Sanchez right?

By the end of the season he should have, but it's over now thankfully and I'll never have to hear about Tebow and the Jets again.

I don't really see this as "News". Moving it to general if people want to continue discussing it, but please don't just let it turn into a lot of junk posting. I'll be watching and have no hesitation about locking it post-haste.

Because barring a turn of events, Sanchez will still be the Jets QB next season, and the Jets can't have their own players publicly and openly questioning him in the media.

Kudos for DeVito to stand up and finally be the one to say it.
