Just to clarify, here is Hester's contract info for 2013:
$1,857,000 base pay that can be increased to around $6.5 mill based on performance in four categories--receptions, receiving yards, receiving touchdowns and combined touchdowns. He didn't do much this past season so that increase would be fairly negligible.
$250,000 workout bonus
$10 million de-escalating roster bonus based on #1 wide receiver production, which he won't see a penny of for obvious reasons.
$750k signing bonus cap hit.
All told, you're looking at about a $3 million cap hit, and cutting him would save about $2.25 mil against the cap.

Yes, but most return TDs ever. | Tied for most non-offensive TDs ever as well. _________________

Devin Hester might be the right fit for the Vikings. Change of scenery. _________________ "I have to keep playing so people over 40 will have somebody to root for on Sunday afternoons." George Blanda who played until he was 46 |
