|
So I am in a 14 owner league that has been the same core group of guys for 6 or 7 years now. 2 years ago we started keeping 3 players but some guys bitched complaining that it gave some people and advantage. So this past year we scraped the keepers. As it turned out it had no real effect on who did well and who didn't. We did have a bunch of problems with people selling off their teams for unreasonable future draft pics. I.E. I got Richardson and Andre Johnson for a 3rd also Lynch and a 9th for my 4th!
My thoughts are those trades wouldn't have been able to go down if there had been keepers in place (our format was keep up to 3 and loose a corresponding # of draft picks starting with round 1 then 2 then 3).
All 3 of those players would have been guys the other owners would probably be using as keepers next year so it would have taken way more than a 3rd or 4th round pick to get them. If I did part with my 1st then I wouldn't be able to keep any players on my team....anyways I want to know what your favorite system of keeper or dynasty is. So stufflike
How many players do you keep?
Is there a max number of years you can keep someone?
What do you loose (draft pick wise) if any for keeping players?
Do you like IDP?
If so how many players?
Oh ya our current format is
QB
RB
RB
WR
WR
WR
TE
K
DST
I would love to hear what works well in your leagues! Thanks for the time looking at all 3 of my threads!! _________________

The more you keep the better IMO... I don't get the point of "keeper" leagues when you only keep 2 or 3... might as well redraft IMO. _________________ Stay low boys.... keep those feet moving!

agreed! Hate how i only can keep 3 guys, not my fault i have 8 guys worth keeping!
I say keep 6
5, just to have it there, but i think its dumb
Should lose the round you drafted them in and it increases every year if possible.(Basically if you draft player "X" in round 5 in 2012, if you are keeping him in 2015 and have all those years it should cost you a 2nd in 2015
Hate IDP leagues

Yikes. Trades like that must have swung the title. That's just a recipe for hard feelings everywhere. My advice would be find a system that can adequately deter owners who are dead from selling off their best players at bargain prices. If you have to, prevent the teams from trading that are eliminated from the playoffs. _________________

sorry to disagree a lil but my favorite format i have found over 25 years of fantasy football is 32 team, double copy, ppr, full IDP, full dynasty.
I have to ask why the hate for IDP leagues? _________________

IDK... I'm boring I guess but I like the straight up normal FFB format.
1 QB
2 RB
3 WR
1 TE
1 DEF
1 K
With maybe a flex WR/RB or TE/WR.
No IDP's no double QBs...
Thats the way I prefer it and the only way I will play. _________________ Stay low boys.... keep those feet moving!

I guess i have gone the complete opposite in that the more positions the better. KR and PR and coaches and punters and whatever to expand on the strategy needed to make it more interesting. let me know if you ever want to expand your horizons. I can always find a spot for you in a dynasty league with some of the better competitors in the industry. _________________

I think franchise leagues are the best. I am looking to join one and I will be a serious and committed owner. Let me know if anyone is looking for players in a new or existing franchise league. _________________

Best ones for me have always been Keep one player at each position, and between 1-3 flex players. I hate leagues that only keep a couple players, or penelize draft picks for keeping players or having limits on how long you can keep them. You shouldn't be penalized for building a good team. _________________
