I feel like the mods are too strict on what we can talk about. Like the Te'o story, there is no where to discuss it because it wasn't about his draft stock. This is a big story and people want to talk about it but the threads get locked cause it not fully on his draft stock. If you can make a place where we could talk about stories like that would be great.

The thread was locked because no one cared to actually discuss the story. Did you see the thread at all? At least 75% of it was "jokes" about the situation and members posting tweets from "celebrities" that were making jokes about the situation.
It's not hard to discuss it without going over the guidelines; members just chose not to do so.

Exactly. The Te'o threads quickly turned into who can have the wittiest comment. Not many were talking about his draft stock at all.

And all the wild speculation involving topics that are not allowed to be discussed here is what likely pushed it over the ledge.

all the mods do is enforce the rules of the site, which were written by its sole owner, the Webmaster. if members could discuss controversial topics maturely, then those conversations could take place. but alas, that's not the case here.
your complaint should be more with the general membership, not the mods.
