It's official. #colts get their new OC -- Pep Hamilton. Somewhere, Andrew Luck is smiling. |
Absolutely stoked with this hire. The Colts grab a young, brilliant football mind and plug him in with the quarterback he had oodles of success with at Stanford. On top of that, I look for Fleener to get the jump start under Pep that we've so waited for as fans. I'm excited to see Irsay and Grigson have stuck by their word, and haven't made "stale" moves that we would have seen from the Polian era. It's tough replacing a mentor like BA for young QBs, but I'm thrilled with this move for Indianapolis. _________________ Building The Monster |

I love how the OC position at Stanford is called "the Andrew Luck Director of Playcalling" because an anonymous donor requested it.
I'm intrigued by this hire, on one hand you have familiarity with the QB. On the other hand you have an offensive Playcalling change that isn't going to lead to Andrew having to learn a completely different offense for his second year.
And like your mentioned getting Fleener more involved (when healthy) is a plus. |

The Colts definitely stole him right out from the Jets' grasp. But, I see it as the perfect opportunity he would have wanted to go back and work with his QB that he had so much success with at Stanford.
I hope Marty pans out for you guys! _________________ Building The Monster |

But I enjoy watching our guys coming off the ball and trying to knock the opponent back. I'm a big believer in the power-running game, I believe that opens it up for your passing game. I want to be flexible schematically in that we find ways to get the ball into playmakers' hands." |

This is exactly the type of offense Luck thrives in. Can't wait for next year. _________________ Building The Monster |

LOL.
Andrew was behind this whole re-naming. It's obvious.
But yeah, he said he was totally against the idea, except that it did benefit for Stanford having the donor, obviously. _________________ Building The Monster |

It really doesnt get too much better than this in my opinion! Been worried BA would leave(system change) then when I let my guard down ARI steals him in the night!! Hamilton brings confidence with Luck already thriving in his system, anyway I look forward to seeing them next season. _________________
