With that said, he definitely has the traits to be a better head coach. He's a players coach just like Pete and should earn respect quickly. Personally, I don't see him being successful, but the difference between a successful coordinator and head coach are substantial so there's a very real chance he could succeed.
Thank god he's not our DC anymore. |
Doesn't Bradley deserve some credit from helping develop the talent on the roster? He's helped turned some late-round picks (Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor) and nobodies (Brandon Browner) into very successful players. _________________

The positive in this is that Bradley gets to do things his way, not how Pete wants it to be done.
Pete has done so well in Seattle in part because he has control over everything. | But didn't he say the entire D was Bradley running it? |
Yes, but Pete would have undoubtedly had some influence in how the plays are planned or the kinds of plays that he wants Gus to call.
On what SoS said, I would say that it's the Secondary coaches and Pete Carroll (A Secondary guru) that are responsible for how they have played. The press man scheme that Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner are thriving is Pete's. _________________

So how much influence did Carroll have in the defense?... _________________

So what I'm getting is that Bradley was just the play caller/motivator, while Carroll did everything else. _________________

Considering Bradley is a Cover-2 coach while Carroll is a 4-3 Under coach and Seattle ran the 4-3 Under... _________________

It's Pete's scheme, but Bradley calls the plays. Hopefully that clears up confusion. _________________

I wouldn't give him credit for any progressions we've seen. Kris Richard is a tremendous secondary coach and Ken Norton is a great LB coach that should be in line for a DC job soon. The DLine was progressing great and putting out overachievers while Dan Quinn was the DLine coach, but that unit has struggled sense.
Bradley was only hear to call plays and that's where we sucked. Our 3rd down defense was atrocious and I'll tell you it's not because our players were suddenly terrible when they knew they had a chance to get off the field. It's because Bradley would go into a soft zone when we have the personnel that screams press-man all game long. _________________
