The Patriots trade was for a 3rd rounder and his contract was expiring. Any player in the NFL is going to be unhappy without a long term contract halfway into the season. Belichick, Brady, or anyone from NE never spoke bad on him.
The whole Vikings thing was more of a coach-player thing... no Vikings players ever said anything bad about him and Childress was fired later. |

There were some issues at Minnesota (and a lot of it had to do with the coach who wasn't exactly well liked by the team by some accounts IIRC by seasons end), but nothing has ever came out to lead anyone to believe the reason for him being cut from New England had anything to do with quitting on the game considering he still seemed to be on great terms with everyone there (see: his hilarious post-game conference after playing them). Coupled with the fact New England's offensive approach as we've seen has changed, maybe NE got rid of him for the same reason they constantly got rid of Deion Branch?
Maybe Moss has/had just declined?
