Quote:
“I think you have two very good offensive tackles. (Mitchell) Schwartz is a very good football player and everyone likes Joe Thomas…I think your center (Alex Mack) is a good player. (Phil) Taylor is a good player. You have good receivers. I like (Joe) Haden I like your running back (Trent Richardson). I think you have the nucleus of a pretty good football team.”

Brandt served as the Cowboys player personnel director from 1960-88, pioneering many of the scouting methods still in vogue in the league today.

How good does Brandt think the Browns can be in 2013? He said he counts them among his five teams who didn’t make the playoffs this past season who should next year.

“I think Cleveland and St. Louis are the best of the five,” Brandt said.

i personally agree with a lot of what he said in this article, we have plenty of talent, and all we need to do is figure out the QB position and we could have a very legitimate shot at making the playoffs

We live and die by Weeden. It all depends on how he performs next year. I see no reason why we can't make a run if Weeden figures this NFL thing out.

Well duh

You kind of expect to make the playoffs when you're going to win the super bowl

And I "could" win the lottery. Just sayin.

Yes we have a realistic shot, but it's on the lower end of realistic, closer to longshot.

it's worth mentioning that the ravens and steelers will be losing talent to FA and age as well.

The only thing we need next year is a little bit of luck, everything else is in place.

I said playoffs next year a few months ago. Now I want to see the off season. Yes Q.B. is the big concern but not the only by a long shot. We have a very good coaching staff but I just don't know about Banner and Lombardi and even Haslim because he hired them. Maybe it works out. Still need quite a few other pieces o.l.b.,corner,t.e.,free safety, kicker, punter and guard. Probably need two o.l.b's. Than is Weeden even the q.b.

We do have more talent though and the young players should learn from their mistakes. Besides needing a guard both lines look very good. The Browns stiil have some big holes to iron out.
