|
|
|
| Quote: | John Clayton stated on ESPN’s SportsCenter Special Monday that Flacco will likely target Drew Brees money in contract talks with the Ravens. Brees, of course, signed a five-year, $100 million contract with $40 million guaranteed last July.
“He’s now made a case for $20 million a year,” Clayton said. “And I think he’s gonna try to hold to that. Last season what I was hearing was he was asking for about $17 million. … But he was saying ‘okay fine, let me play this out.’ Now he’s in a position to make big money. And we’ll see if he can get over Drew Brees’ contract. I think he can.”
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen agreed that the “$20 million figure is not unreachable” for Flacco. |

This isn't really news. Good story, worthy of discussion. More NFL General worthy. _________________

Eli Manning got 7yrs 109m in 2009 so 7yrs 120m for Flacco would probably be less then that when accounting for inflation and contract escalation. I wouldn't be suprised if he got $120m at all and likely will unless he gives a hometown discount to Baltimore. _________________

Oh dear. Flacco is not worth that. Superbowl or otherwise. _________________

He won't get $20 million per. IF he did say that, which I doubt given how quiet Flacco has been about his contract, you always start of asking for the moon.
He'll hit $100 million though. _________________

Hope he gets a giant contract, so big it cripples the Ravens salary for years to come. _________________ Kickers are people too |

Drew Brees >>> Joe Flacco
I used to like Joe Flacco and he has definitly been good in these playoffs but seeing how much he has become overrated IMO, I wish his team takes a beating in the SB. |

Not surprised at all.
This is how you negotiate, start at the highest benchmark and work your way down. _________________

Ngata's signed through 2016, Suggs is signed through 2015, Ray Rice is signed through 2017, Marshal Yanda is signed through 2016, Ray is retiring, Ed is the only big star that's got FA coming up. _________________

Wait, if Joe Flacco gets $120 million what does Aaron Rodgers get when he is due a new contract after the 2014 season??? Do we even keep a QB for that kind of money? |
