That was a good read. And honestly, as much as we've all seen Matt play, that was really the first time he was ever injured beyond a cut finger, bruised hand, or turf toe; he showed he's resilient and whatever you think about him, he's a team player, game manager, and most importantly a winner. _________________

Agreed. I think the article brings up some great points about Smith and Ryan and how similar they are (the height, weight, and birthday things are weird!). And it shows how much an environment can make a difference. If Smith had went to Atlanta in 2008 I can imagine his numbers would look the same as Ryan's. That dude has went through so much crap it's unreal.
The biggest difference I see between the 2 is the confidence. Ryan has so much confidence in himself and those receivers he will take chances and go down the field, Smith has turned into a guy afraid to make a mistake. |
