Really? Why did he think there was such a market for him?

Holy moly?!?! For real? Dude is still paying for his stupid decisions. I hope banging that intern was worth it. | Same reason every player does, Agents. In Bell's case he was the 3rd or 4th RB on the depth chart, the Preseason was wrapping up, his agent probably convinced him some RB hungry team would snatch him up since he has plenty of starting experience and played well after Matt went down last year. I believe he got invited to try out w/ a couple teams but didn't actually sign w/ anybody. |
He had a cup of coffee with the Jets this year. He fumbled on his only touch. _________________

Never heard of him. If we're talking 70's, why would a guy on that team that ran a Coryell offense and threw the ball like mad want to go somewhere else? Wow - more confirmation on how out of touch with reality these guys are.

Jefferson (never saw him, heard so much about him) was a pretty brilliant player. 3 straight 1000 yard seasons, avg of 12 TDs his first three years in SD (1000+, 12 TDs as a rookie). Kellen Winslow opening things up. We got Wes Chandler in and he was ridiculous, averaged 129 yards per game in a strike shortened season (would have set and still held the record if he had gotten that over 16 games). Even if we didn't get Wes Chandler, Jefferson likely would have gone down as one of the all time greats if he had stayed around. That offense would still dominate even in today's game

Fred Dean also demanded a trade when he was getting underpaid (see a trend in SD history? ), except that worked out great because he was a key cog in the 9ers runs. _________________
