I think he may actually end up in Buffalo though, hell, maybe even NY. |
But Buffalo is the only New York team. |

I think the Jets have to be interested in him. If they're interested in Jamarcus Russell as I read the other day you would think they'd want Alex Smith. _________________ I bought one of those tapes to teach you Spanish in your sleep. its not a great number, i agree
arizona gave a second and a player for kolb. then signed him to a contract for 6 year 63.5 mill, so its not crazy high
a starting qb for under 10 mill is pretty good imo _________________ ***WE RUN THE WEST!***

A chance the 49ers keep Alex? Or just a bluff to try and conjure up a trade with a QB desperate team? _________________

Call me nuts, but I still think he ends up getting that $7.5-8 million if/when he signs elsewhere. Looking at this year's QB crop and the lack of Day One ready guys (there are guys with very develop-able talent and good ceilings, but they're not guys that can likely meet the recent standard that's been set dating back to Bradford which is that the rookie QB starts Day One if not darn near), Smith's agent isn't going to let a team get away with just giving him a 1 or 2 year "show me" deal. Why? Because Smith's agent is Tom Condon - the same guy who bent teams over barrels for clients Brees, P. Manning, Tomlinson, and so forth. Tom Condon doesn't have a heart and doesn't really care about doing what's best for "your franchise;" he's about getting himself and his client as much green as possible. _________________

I'd laugh if he ends up with the cards and lights the 49ers defence up next year. _________________

That would be very amusing. Doubt he goes to the Cards though. I think they stick with Kolb for another year. My guess is Jacksonville or Oakland. _________________

What's the 49ers cap look like? Could a team trade for Smith with a guy that they can't/don't really want to afford any longer? _________________

No kidding. With Arizona's line dang. Alex has terrible pocket presence and is king of taking sacks. He takes a ton. Aldon would rack a ton of sacks. |

I believe we're $5.9 million under cap next year, and Alex will free up $7.5 million. _________________
