It seems that way buno, according to the article.

Hardly a big deal though, since whoever we might pick at #6 wasn't there either. _________________

I would assume the GM would spend more time on game film and the combine stuff than the senior bowl, and just add the information the scouts give from the senior bowl to form the rankings.
It "looks" bad if we are the only team without a top executive there...............but is it "actually" bad?? probably not as much as most people seem to think it is. _________________ NEW 2011 draft prediction.

While I'm not ready to call Lombardi a bum (again I mean, cuz he's been a bum many times before), I do think this is somewhat concerning.
While the Senior Bowl isn't the 'be all, end all" as others have noted, it is an excellent opportunity to see a lot of the top talents compete against each other.
I guess my only question is what did Lombardi have to do that was more important that week? Film doesn't expire and FA isn't for another month and a half or so. _________________

The Browns drafted 6 players from the senior bowl with out there GM present there last year. I think the same staff that was there last year will do all right this year. _________________ The Dawgpounds new three headed monster!

we will never know why he couldnt make it...but i dont see it as a big deal. if your entire scouting staff is there than there is no reason to be concerned. It be different if the Browns only sent a scout or two. The report said the Browns had their entire college scouting staff there. That is 9 ppl.
Shouldnt some ppl be happy about this. A lot of ppl say ML doesnt have an eye for talent...so now the college scouting staff is making up the list of possible players that they all think will be great players for the team. A scouting staff that worked with Heckert. I think LM is better at looking and scouting NFL players than college players and I think that why he didnt go.
another idea why is its part of the Haslem business model. Haslem has hired ppl for a single job and let them be amazing at that one job. We have a director of college scouting and 8 college scouts. So they are just doing there. If they are great scouts there is no need for ML to be there. I rather him use his time else where like finding and making a list of possible free agents to bring in.
Did anyone else know that our Director of player personnel is Jon Sandusky, the son of Jerry Sandusky? _________________
