Sorry, but Cutler playing as well as Manning did this year?
No.
When has Cutler ever thrown for 30+ TD's and kept his interception numbers below 15? The only time he ever sniffed 30 TD's he threw one less pick. HE DIDN'T EVEN HIT 20 THIS YEAR! |
Cutler had a much better O-line in 2008 than he ever had in Chicago, and their offense was unstoppable that year. |

If by unstoppable you mean really average in points, yes. They moved the ball down the field well but were really bad at turning yards into points. _________________ Geno Smith, Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey, and Bruce Irvin will all have at least 1 pro bowl season each by the end of the decade.

| They've got to be an AFC favorite. Cassel had an okay year, but Belichick really put the handcuffs on the offense. They were just that good as a team that a crappy QB like Cassel could have a great year. |

Belichick didnt put handcuffs on the offense...Brady getting injured did.
If he tried to use Cassell the same way he used Brady, they wouldve been lucky to win 7 games. Cassell was used exactly how he shouldve been with safe, high percentage passes that limited the mistakes he could make.
And having a very easy schedule outside of 3 games didnt hurt either. _________________

Since they went 10 and 6 with Cassel at QB I can see them winning at least 13 games had Brady not gotten injured. _________________ Mmmm...Sacrelicious! |

What would have been more intriguing is what if they didn't miss the playoffs that year? It's rare that a team with the record they had is sitting at home.
What if Matt Cassell takes that team to the Super Bowl?
It's one of those close what if scenarios just like the Scottie Pippen Bulls that could have very easily made the Finals |

Honestly, I think they go 18-1 again, but the good kind of 18-1.
They were a legitimately dominant team with a motivated Moss and should really have won a SB. _________________

Am I missing something?
How is that not historically accurate? |

SB or no SB, Brady would've had the best 5 year stretch ever.
it probably would look something like this.
2007 - 50tds 8ints
2008 - 40tds 10ints
2009 - 35tds 10ints (brady won't look so sh!!tty)
2010 - 36tds / 4ints
2011 - 39tds / 12ints
that's 200tds in 5 years. |

Actually, in both years, the difficulty of the schedule was about the same, except that the AFC East was tougher in 08 than in 07. Also, when Brady played the Steelers in 07, they were on a downward slide, and Polamalu and Clark were out. And, their replacement, who was talking all week, got burned twice. In 08, both of those guys were healthy, and their D was stifling. |

Maybe the Chiefs wait til '10 and take Sam Bradford or Tim "2nd QB off the board" Tebow.
With Tebow in Kansas, Denver end up picking the next QB on the board, Jimmy Clausen or Colt McCoy.
With Clausen in Denver, Carolina daft next QB available and has a season with John Skelton or Mike Kafka at the helm, which would have been infinitely better than Clausen and would have put them out of contention for Cam. This would in turn see the Panthers go with Blaine Gabbert, Andy Dalton or CK7.
So if Brady didn't get hurt, Tim Tebow could have been the face of the Kansas City Chiefs and CK7 could have ended up QB of the Carolina Panthers.
Hmmmmmmmm.
Please note a huge degree of here... |
If Brady stays healthy, the Pats probably have a long run in the playoffs, and McDaniels doesn't get hired by Denver. Instead, Steve Spagnuolo probably does.
That means Cutler stays put, and Spags focuses on fixing the defense. The Broncos end up being about what they are now, but with Cutler, not Manning. |
Spags hasn't exactly been a good coach lately. _________________
