It's probably more like 5/10 CJ 3/10 AJ Green and 2/10 JJ. And poor AJ isn't even in this conversation and should be.
To determine who is actually the best they would have to play with the same players and that's not going to happen.
I will say if we were to look at the two players and take age and contract into consideration I would take JJ every time. The difference in salary would allow the Lions to add some help which is needed. |
I still wouldnt do that. CJ has shown he can dominate with all the attention and no run game. Not sure Julio would dominate given the same circumstance even down the road. Plus, if Julio would play to the level were comparing him to, he would just command that much more money soon. Be it in a hold out or simply when his rookie deal is up. |
You're probably right about money down the road. Julio has put up more yards and TD's his first two seasons than CJ did and Ryan has to distribute the ball more. CJ has always been the focal point in Detroit.
I'm trying to be objective and not let the homer in me take control. _________________

Chris Carter knocks Calvin, he breaks records
Get's flack for a Madden Curse, breaks records
Now this?
2,000 yards and 20 TD's next year. _________________ “Most of the luxuries and many of the so-called comforts of life are not only not indispensable, but positive hindrances to the elevation of mankind.”

Well, he did break the franchise record for receiving TDs. He also was the first player in NFL history to have 2 TDs in the first 4 games of a season I believe. _________________

I think this is about media attention.
I like Julio Jones but I would take AJ over him. I put Green right behind Calvin.
If you were starting a team and you had to pick Jones or Calvin I think I would take Calvin every time. Still relatively young and producing at a high level.
If I made them switch places Calvin with ATL alongside Gonzalez and White... _________________ AAL: DeAndre Levy 31 Tackles

LOL no.
Green is better than Calvin at the moment, but they're different receivers.
Julio is quicker, but...he plays he exact same style as Calvin, but Calvin has pretty much skill on him outside raw quickness. Julio does things well, but CJ does them better. Height speed ups hands, its the combo of skills.
I think Green brings more to the table than both, though. Green is WAY better than either of them in the red zone. If it's a 9 fade, Julio and calvin are practically useless. Green's agility and short-area quickness is light years ahead of either of them. _________________

What's up NBT? Mods kick you out of the general forums so you have to pimp Moss and Green elsewhere? _________________

Maybe in a couple of years we'll be reading someone's opinion that Titus Young is better than Julio Jones and Megatron.
Wouldn't necessarily mean that they're right, but probably start some lively discussions! |

I rather have Calvin over all the Wide outs I don't think its even a question.
So to me its a pretty easy question who the best wide out is today. _________________ You have to stand bye your convictions, sometimes you might stand alone but when your proven right its a great feeling!

Green also doesn't get doubled covered every single time his team is in the red zone like Calvin does. Everything you've just said is false except for Calvin being better that Julio.
Didn't you say that Julio was better on the comparisons thread? Pretty sure you did. |
