Baker signed with the Falcons. I believe we have until 8 pm tommorrow night if we want to send in an offer for Vollmer. Do we still want to go after him? If we do I could write a pitch tommorrow afternoon if no one else wants to.

I can try and write a pitch too. Having few to choose from wouldn't hurt, and we can combine some parts if necessary. Anybody else?

Here's the pitch that I came up, thoughts?

Mr. Vollmer was given his chance to shine at the NFLís Global Junior Championship back in 2003 which happened to be played right here in San Diego. This was the first American city that he ever saw and a homecoming of sorts would be the right thing for both sides. The first reason that Mr. Vollmer should sign with us is the opportunity to start at LT. He would be given the reins to the most important position on the offensive line no questions asked. Next to him he would have a LG in Louis Vasquez that is considered a top 15 LG in the NFL. Why does this matter to him? It matters because of all the times that bad guard play has taken a great player and made him look like heís a turn stile. This was even evident last year for Mr. Vollmer when the player of RG Dan Connolly declined and they both paid the price. The two players together ended up giving up 3.5 sacks more than the year previously. Playing next to a not only good, but consistent player in Vasquez would give Mr. Vollmer the opportunity to shine and not have to worry about the play of the person next to him. Around him the rest of the offense is filled with pieces that could put plenty of points up with his help. At running back he has Ryan Matthews who could be that 1,000 yard rusher that he is used to in New England. Add to that a quarterback who has throw for an average of 4,200 yards while being sacked 39 times a year. With Mr. Vollmer he could easily put up somewhere close to 5,000 yards. The most important player for Mr. Vollmer to notice is at center with Nick Hardwick. He is still a good player but more importantly the leadership and knowledge he could share with Mr. Vollmer is something that he canít get anywhere else. With Hardwickís help he could elevate his play to even the next level and become the top left tackle out there fetching an even bigger pay day in the future. The last thing about that team that would fit Mr. Vollmer perfectly is that we are targeting players that are only about the team. After quitting swimming at a young age because of the lack of being a team, going somewhere all about the team would be perfect for Mr. Vollmer. He would be surrounded by people that want team success and nothing else. Outside of football, there are plenty of things that could intrigue him. There is a great variety of things to do whether visiting the beautiful beaches on the ocean or he could go to the best aquarium and zoo in the entire country. This isnít even mentioning the greatest weather that can be asked for. Everything considered, San Diego really is the perfect fit for a premier player such as Mr. Vollmer.

Its really good, only thing i would add is the fact that we're going to be running a blocking system simlar to what he ran, with a guy known for being one of the best OL coaches in the NFL.

To add that I would need to take out the portion about the city to stay under the 500 word count limit. I bolded the added part.

He would be surrounded by people that want team success and nothing else. Lastly, we run a blocking scheme very similar to his previous scheme in New England giving him a very small learning curve so he can make an impact immediately. That scheme also happens to be run by one of the top offensive line coaches in the game today. Everything considered, San Diego really is the perfect fit for a premier player such as Mr. Vollmer.

Also that was one of the best pitches i've seen in a LONG time, damn good job and way to put in the work to find the extra stuff like him living here for a while early in his life.

Breaking News: winitall is a stud.

In other news: SP95 didn't get an offer. He'll be thrown into the shark tank. Might be able to get a decent deal if we want him back.

Awesome pitch, really good stuff!

P.S: With Volmer in the bag, what's our plan for RT?

With Vollmer on board, remaining areas of need - CB, RT, G, Pass Rush, ILB, NT.

What have I missed?

$10mill cap space left. I'm assuming we end up cutting Garay, so $15m cap space. How much do we need to leave for draft picks?
