Sam Baker contract is a bit of poppy-cock imo. LT's don't sign for 5 years 20 million. I could agree with less years, same price, but he wouldn't of signed with ATL likely then.

His contract is compairable to guys like Jared Gaither(back problems) Eugene Monroe(rookie contract?) and Levi Brown.
When I think it should of been more compairable to Donald Penns, Joe Staley. I don't get the discount or why his price was set so low. ATL got away with one imo.

except for the fact that 1) Baker isn't as good as Joe Staley or Donald Penn by any means and 2) if he wanted more money than 5.5/year, we would have just let him go. Everyone will agree that Baker is more valuable to the Falcons than other teams because of his familiarity with the scheme and players. _________________

That's probably why you never got our offer for Barwin. No big deal, we weren't paying him that much anyway. _________________

Might as well say Dockett's name. The latest contracts are based on similar average annual values, not necessarily players at the same position. |

I agree with this. There will be guys in the shark tank getting better deals. How many offers did Baker get? If Atlanta's was the only one, it would be slightly understandable but Chicago said they offered a mil per year more, which even then would be on the low side. Did anyone else make an offer? A starting LT should be getting at least 6 mil on the open market. Why pick him for the talent agency if he isn't asking for enough to get out of the shark tank? |

Yeah, I meant to PM you about that after I saw your comment. Glad you were interested in paying that much.
BTW, @NotTopDollaAgency has a 8x Pro-Bowler, 5x All-Pro in Tier 3 waiting by a phone that doesn't appear to be ringing... |
