I just watched some tape on Cornelius Washington that wasn't available just a week ago and I have to say, he does indeed look pretty impactful on the field. I thought he might've been just a case of an athlete taking over at the senior bowl while not actually being able to play, but he definitely looks like a player.
He has terrific burst, his 36 bench reps show up on tape as well as he'll flash the ability to just toss tackles aside to create a rushing lane for himself. He was truly impressive. The only issue to his game that I noticed was his lack of stamina, after a few series on the field you could tell that he became noticeable winded and wasn't the same explosive player as he was earlier on in the drive. He'll for sure need to improve on his conditioning heading to the next level.
In addition to his play, I looked at a few of his interviews just to get a feel for him and he came across as well spoken. He does have the alcohol/speeding arrest to his credit, but it's only one incident and outside of that he hasn't shown any problems. He's still incredibly raw, but we don't need a complete edge threat... we have both Suggs and Upshaw as starters and... call me crazy, but that's a good starting duo. We have need for a guy who can offer a speed rush off the edge that neither Suggs/Upshaw present and can potentially develop into a complete player to replace Suggs in a few years. Washington fits the bill. If he falls to us, he's my favorite player left on the board considering his tape, his senior bowl, and his combine.
My Updated BB
1. Cornelius Washington- Awesome explosiveness, strength, and potential.
2. Michael Buchanan- Mouth was wired shut and lost weight before season hurt him.
3. TJ McDonald- Best safety left on the board. Has the instincts and athleticism.
4. Gerald Hodges- With Te'O coverage LBer becomes more important.
5. Bennie Logan- Needs to improve arm extension to better utilize athleticism.
6. Kevin Reddick- Explosive and athletic backer that at I see being a prime Bart Scott thumper.
7. Tony Jefferson- Excellent instincts and speed shows better speed than 40 time.
8. AJ Klein- Playmaking ILB talent that showed good speed. Got hurt in drills.
9. Devin Taylor- Physical marvel, not productive but our front 7 could use his athleticism. _________________

So I just have to ask, what's with everyone being high on Brandon Jenkins. I understand that we're rumored to have interviewed him at the combine and all, but looking at his tape... I just don't get it. He's not explosive off the edge nor does he seem to be possessed of great pass rushing moves. Looking at the tape he didn't appear to be anything more than maybe a 3rd/4th round talent, add in the injury that he's yet to recover from and we can't be sure he'll even be as good as he once was. Can't say that I'm very high on him.
I'd also like to throw this out there just in case some don't know, but Ryan Swopes seems to have a history of concussions to his credit. I think that's something that's going to be worth looking into (for the Ravens IRL) and it could see him drop come draft day.
Bennie Logan is a guy I think is worth some discussion. I see him on tape and he's athletic and he's strong and a hardworker. He's nice against the run and hustles well. But I just can't understand why he isn't more... dominant, like with Richardson and Floyd. Les Miles is a good coach and has a nice coaching staff, by all accounts, so is Logan just a slow learner. He perplexes me. It seems that if his technique was there he could be more of an impact player, but now I'm not sure what he might bring to the table. Is he simply Arthur Jones with a little more speed? Or does he have the ability to take his game to another level. He's a really intriguing option, I'd have him higher on my list if I trusted him to unlock his potential more than I do. _________________

This is for the last pick in the 3rd round so it would be right on the value you are suggesting. _________________

But that was before his lisfranc injury and how horrible he looked at the combine in both the drills as well as following directions for the drills. There's also no telling if he's ever going to be back to 100% of what he was. Sure Dwight Freeny suffered this same injury and came back, but he was in the NFL with access to the best doctors. Jenkins is in college and even with the best they have to offer, he's likely not seeing the best specialists that money can buy to put him on track early enough for him to bounce back at 100% of what he was. I don't know enough about this injury to assume best case scenario. All I can judge by is the fact that he didn't look special on tape in any facet. And while I said 3rd/4th rounder... I meant that in general sense that usually the 3rd/4th is for average players. This is a deep draft, so I have a decent number of guys who I think in a normal draft might be 2nd/3rd round values. So I suppose I misspoke, Jenkins looks more like a 4th/5th round player when judging him next to his peers and what they bring to the table. _________________

So far this is the list of all the names that have received multiple votes. Now, up until now the consensus voting has taken into account any player who has showed up on multiple boards. However, ordering 16 different names... I'm not sure that's the best idea. So I propose that with such a large turnout of potential names, we slice the list down further before going into the consensus voting.
I thought we could slice this list one of two ways. Get it down to a top 5 consensus board by only including the names that received OVER 50% of mentions on our BBs... OR get the list down to a top 10 while including the names that were AT 50% or above. I took the liberty of organizing the names by mentions on BBs and color coded the difference between the top 5 and top 10.
So would you guys like to cut this list down?
Yes, No? And if yes, then should it be top 5 or top 10?

Lets just do a top 5, unless someone really feel like one of those guys listed below belong in the poll.
I'm going to post my scouting review of the top 5 in about 30min or so. _________________

With only 1 pick to go and after a bit more evaluation, my 2 man big board would now be:
Cornelius Washington - Was good at the Senior Bowl and his combine numbers jump out at me. We are looking for an athletic pass rusher and this man could be it.
Bennie Logan - Inconsistent technique but has the explosion to provide an inside pass rush. Could provide something similar to what we had with Cory Redding a couple of seasons ago. _________________

I say top 5 -- 10 players when only like 6-7 people are even voting is too much, IMO.
My votes in order for the top 5:
Cornelius Washington
Michael Buchanan
Bennie Logan
Tony Jefferson
T.J. McDonald _________________
