Vollmer is a FA... I can easily see him moving on, in fact Id like the Hawks to sign him or Winston.

| My guess is it's just a depth signing. If they decide to move on from Vollmer it's probably because they think Marcus Cannon can take his place. Still, it's nice to have a backup RT that has starting experience. He missed all of last year so I'm guessing he came cheap. |

1. does this guy have the best name on FF or what? He's got my vote 
2. precisely what medula amendola says about cannon. also worth mentioning is the set of circumstances surrounding the patriots supposed interest in steelers restricted free agent receiver emmanuel sanders, their cap space to sign one more free agent like dwigh freeney, elvis dumervil, or john abraham, and sebastian vollmer's contract not fitting into all that.

Great pickup for the Pats. Svitek is a warrior and a tremendous team player.
I think the guy is talented enough to start on some teams at OT. He was in 2011 an upgrade to Baker and alot of people wanted to keep him as our starter. But Baker came back this year fully healthy and showed out at the LT spot while Svitek was injured so he won it back.
Still A+ pickup even if it is for depth wish the falcons would have kept him.

Great to hear from a fan of a former team. With Scarnecchia's coaching too, this can only be a good thing.
