Just been released via NFL: Around the League on Twitter.

Thoughts on bringing him in?

Seems like a reasonable idea as a long term backup

Skelton is absolute garbage. Inaccurate and gutless. He had 2 TD/9 INT in 7 games played last year and has never completed over 55% of his passes. He can't even throw a pass within Fitzgerald's catch radius. I wouldn't even have him as a third stringer for the vet min. Gradkowski is a better player who guys will play for. Has the mobility and smarts to be a respectable backup

It's better than wasting a pick on a developmental QB that will never develop , so given the choice I prefer him to a wasted pick. As a 3rd QB you could do worse

Well, that's why I asked the question.

I guess I forgot about how good John Parker Wilson is. Silly me.

JPW imo, sucks. So does Skelton..

If I had to choose between Skelton, a Rookie, and no one, I would take no one as my #3 QB. Worst case scenario, I'd roll with the punter Wink

Gradkowski has never completed over 55% of his passes either. His QBR is 65.8 compared to 63 for Skelton and both have thrown more interceptons than TDs. As far as saying Gradkowski is the better player is that really saying a whole lot? They are very comparable and in reality they both aren't great. If Gradkowski never had the game he did against the Steelers then I doubt many would feel he was as good a signing as he was. The one thing I do like about Gradkowski is at least he should be able to handle playing more than a quarter without getting hurt like Leftwich. Plus he is a competitor which I like as well. He's always been a fiery type of player so if and when he needs to be called upon the team should be able to rally around him.

Seriously you wouldnt take a young former starting QB with game experience as a 3rd string QB? Who cares how bad he did, he would be a great practice body and if 2 QBs did get hurt he has game experience. I will take him.
