Are the Raiders going to have what, like 10 new starters on defense?

No, nine. Tyvon Branch and Lamarr Houston will be the only constants.

They are also going to have at least three new starters on offense (QB, one WR, and TE), and they should get upgrades on a few spots on their O-line if they knew what was good for them, like G and RT.

Almost there will be 8 or 9, Houston will be back and Burris started for awhile last year and I would imagine he will start this year. Oh and branch will be at safety still.

2012 opening day starters
LE - Houston, staying
UT - Seymour, gone
NT - Kelly, gone
RE - Shaughnessy, gone
SB - Wheeler, gone
MB - McClain, gone
WB - Burris, staying
CB - Bartell, gone
SS - Branch, staying
FS - Huff, gone
CB - Spencer, gone

8 new starters on D for sure. 4 on offense (Pälmer, DHB, Myers, Carlisle are gone).

Very happy for Reggie Smith, never understood why no one picked him up last season. Not a great player or anything, but solid and cover a bit.

I've always liked Reggie. High character guy who works hard. he's got some really good size and is just all around solid. Good signing imo raiders are making some good moves.

ST's and back up SS. We need both, so I really like this signing.

He's pretty much a special teams player and a backup safety. He's not bad, but there are a lot of guys like that in the league
