According to Adam Caplan - no word yet on the compensation. Makes sense for the Cardinals since Arians doesn't need a FB and the Chiefs don't have much at the position so it's worth taking a risk on the former 5th round pick.
Update: Chiefs send CB Javier Arenas to the Cardinals - Arenas was a second round pick who spent most of his time in the slot. The Chiefs had hopes of him becoming a dangerous return man but it never panned out. He won't have to worry about that in Arizona with Mathieu and Peterson in town.

Rumor is Javier Arenas was the comp. Reid just drafted one in the draft. Why trade for another? _________________

Isn't Arenas a pretty decent slot? _________________

He was average. With the acquisition of Dunta Robinson, he had become like the 4th or 5th CB on the Chiefs. |

I'm surprised we would have any interest in Javier Arenas, with Peterson, Fleming, Cason, and Powers I thought we had a solid group of corners. _________________

Arenas for Sherman would be a crazy deal. Is a sub-par FB really worth giving up on a former second round pick who has been a capable starter in the slot? |

We only got Clifton Geathers for our fullback
Kind of a weird trade in value, unless Sherman has many hidden talents |

Sherman is a better fullback than Arenas is a cornerback, so this is a good deal for KC. Sherman's also a beast on STs. _________________

I always liked Arenas and it's a fullback you are giving up. Even a great one is just a fullback and still not worth a ton. I like the move for the Cardinals and think it's kind of dumb for the Chiefs. You can sign a fullback off the streets, and if not, who cares? Don't use fullback sets?
It's not like Andy is running power-I formations. He just wants a guy to block or get checkdowns. You can just have a HB or TE do that. Then for the Cardinals, you can never have too many corners so even if he's a bust he still has potential for depth and special teams. _________________

Reid is going to do to Fullbacks, what Belichick did to Tight Ends. Defenses are going to be so confused by Reids 3 FB offense. Alex Smith will be able to dump it off to one of our FB's for 2 yards all game. |

You can't find a FB on Sherman's level on the street, and Arenas was probably going to be cut before the season, anyway.. |

Surprising considering Chiefs fans were telling me how talented he was and that he was the best slot corner in the divison by a long way even after last season.
Would that be them drastically overrating there talent levels yet again? |
