I thought he was extremely underrated to tell you the truth. Most people had him valued as a third rounder but I thought he'd be a steal at that point. I see no problem w/ where he was drafted as I felt he was early-mid 2nd value.

As did the Cowboys. They had him #22 on their board with 18 1st round grades.

I posted a mock w/ us getting him in the third I believe and felt it was extremely unrealistic but I'm sure most wouldn't have thought as highly about him as me and obviously the Cowboys did haha

I had him at a 2nd round value, but thought there were better values available

Should of picked Cyprien

OL was a bigger area of need than safety. Frederick was the right pick.

Only if you believe in needs-based drafting, which many other GMs would completely argue against.

There's more than just the direct value of the player. First off, you have to weigh the value to the organization. But the bigger principle here is opportunity cost. The drop off from Frederick to next available interior lineman (on the Cowboys' Board, which we do *actually* know) was likely bigger than the dropoff from Cyprien (whom I actually wanted) to JJ Wilcox (who I had hardly heard off).

According to their own board Dallas had the next available interior o-lineman rated as a 4th rounder, while Cyprien was rated ahead of Wilcox, but still as a 3rd rounder along with Wilcox.

According to the way they ranked their board, they made absolutely the right pick. You can argue the validity of their board all day, but not the way they actually handled the draft based on it (including the trade back).

We can't really say who anyone should and shouldn't have picked right now especially w/ two players like this who have no major medical concerns.

I agree w/ the logic. I also feel Cyprien was a little overrated also.

Thought I was the only one that considered him a bit overrated.

On the on topic note, I'm glad we have all our draft under our belt, no holdouts!

I had the same thought when glancing at the OP.

I liked the choice just not the trade up.

I mean..They had 14 (13?) picks, it's not like they were on a budget.

Trade them for future picks, no need for a trade up for Reid.
