Funny title.
Love it. Beason has always been a great leader and team player it seems. _________________

I believe in the next few weeks we will hear about Kraken being signed long term. _________________

Another win for gettlemen but man did hurney dole out a lot of loaded contracts. Hopefully if we do get the kraken long term his contract makes sense money wise. _________________

Great move by Gettleman and Beason. More Gettlemagic in the air friends.
I believe that Gettleman has redone all of the poor contracts, hopefully that leads to Krakken getting paid, which will then lead to Cam getting paid. _________________

Hurney was afraid. He thought the "core" would leave Carolina and he knew were were not plaing in free agency. Making Beason and Kalil the highest paid players at their positions was stupid. Johnson had only 1 year of high production and he had only one competitor--cap-strapped Atlanta in the bidding war for him. Hurney's paranoia took over and he again overpaid. Atlanta walked away from the table laughing at him. It started with the Jake Delhomme joke of contract. The contracts to RBs were ignorant. Think about it--we had about $70 million in cap room and he ventures out to re-sign the core of a team that went 2-14.
His drafts showed this desperation too, trading first rounders next year for second rounders. He drafted players with injury histories and work ethic issues .
These reworking of contracts are simply adjustments to Marty's drunken spending spree. Marty will continue to haunt the Panthers for a year or two, but Gettlemen has been great. |
