CB Richard Marshall has agreed to terms with the Chargers on a one-year deal, per league source.

Marshall will most likely replace rookie Steve Williams as the slot CB on the team.

Last season the Dolphins signed Marshall to a three-year, $16 million contract with $6 million guaranteed but he dealt with injuries and was released this off-season.

Marshall can be a good player when asked to play the nickel or free safety but struggles when asked to play outside.

As a nickel corner (dime once Brandon Taylor is fit again and resumes the SS position, and Gilchrist - likely - shifts back to corner) this is a good signing. I certainly wouldn't want him starting on the boundary for us, but otherwise with Steve Williams' injury we were down to running UDFA rookies as our 4th CB option.

You sure about that? From what I have read, the team thinks Gilchrist is better suited at safety then he is at corner.

Anyway, this is a good signing. Nickel was looking really weak even before Williams went down.

It's much needed because Chargers lack dept in the secondary. Hope the guy can stay healthy because he can ball.
