Developer: Remedy Entertainment
Release Date: April 5, 2016

Platform: Xbox One

Not a ton is known about Quantum Break, besides it will intertwine live-action into a video game and that time will play a major factor into it.

Though, it seems likely that we could see a little more info hit in two weeks during VGx

--------------------------

Kinda cool, Quantum Break will be the first game to use a specialized version
of DMM called DMM playback
http://www.pixelux.com/Remedy-QuantumBreak2013.html?id=20614102&siteID=123112&linkID=9242259

DMM is a high-end physics/destruction often used in films, what this version will help do is help keep the 'costs' low, while still allowing big destruction. And on top of that as the moniker suggests, it will help freeze debris as it does in the trailer.

16 min. narrated Gameplay
Behind the Scenes

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2014/08/12/control-time-in-quantum-break.aspx
Quote:
During a Microsoft press conference Sam Lake, Creative Director at Remedy, took the stage to give a live demo of the new Xbox One Exclusive Quantum Break. The game looks like a lot of fun.

Lake called Quantum Break a cinematic-inspired action game. Players will get to control Jack Joyce, the "lucky" victim of a science experiment gone wrong that has left Jack with the ability to control time. During the demo, we watched Jack freeze time for limited bursts then run up to his enemies and jump kick them across the face. Jack can also freeze time in small localized areas and then fire off a round of ammo into these bubbles, creating a devastating hail that will shred through enemies, cars, or explosive gas tanks.

Jake will also run into time fissures where time across the world freezes. In Quantum Break, time is breaking down, and Jack will have to find a way to restore time before it breaks down completely and destroys reality. However, Jack's enemies have technology that allows them to function normally even during these time fissures, and Jack will face off against these enemies during boss-like battles.

The game will be coming exclusively to Xbox One in 2015. Stay tuned to Game Informer as we cover this promising looking title more later in the week.

That is pretty cool. When is the game coming out again? It's looking like something I will be picking up.

Delayed into 2016

No big surprise. Exclusive titles alone made it a fairly crowded fall. Between Halo 5, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Forza...running out of fall months to be able to give the usually Microsoft (publishing) marketing push.

On top of that you pile 3rd party stuff, some of which Xbox has deals with (CoD, EA, etc), and it was more of a matter of when it got pushed back.

Yeah, definitely thought it would be pushed to 2016, especially when they said that ROTTR is still on track for Holiday 2015. That is fine with me, gives them more time to polish the game.

Release date of April 5, 2016
New Trailer

Shawn Ashmore (X-men) now shown as the lead character in game, Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones) plays the villain.
Dominic Monaghan (Lord of the Rings/Lost), Lance Reddick (Fringe/The Wire/Lost), or Courtney Hope (NCIS) also join the cast of the game/live-action show.

The game will be focused on Ashmore's character, while the show is more of Aidan Gillen's side of it.

There will be more throughout the week, but that cast and the newest look at the gameplay has me really excited.

It was a nice surprise they were able to keep the casting a secret for the most part. We knew that Shawn Ashmore and Dominic Monaghan were in it, but due to the previous gameplay footage had no idea Ashmore was the main character. Littlefinger will be an awesome villain, and I really like Reddick too. I'm like you Kilty, I'm looking forward to this game even more now. So happy it comes out in Spring and not this Fall lol.

Quote:
Quantum Break is already playable from beginning to end, Remedy told us. And to be clear, it looks absolutely gorgeous, if not quite finished.

Remedy will spend the next few months sanding down the game's the game's rough edges. We saw a lot of screen-tearing during the demo, and the HUD that hovers vertically on the right side of the screen is still a work in progress. Lake says there's a "very clear" path to get to the final, polished AAA product, where he admits that polish is everything.

That'll be a benefit to a game that was originally slated to be released this year. It was delayed, Lake and head of Xbox Phil Spencer say, to give Quantum Break a chance to thrive outside of the packed-to-bursting holiday release window.

So the game is pretty much done, they will just be polishing it up for its April release. That's good to know, the game already looks quite good. Hoping this will be bigger than Alan Wake was, which they also discuss in that article.

So glad this will be coming out sometime soon. I can't wait!
