I don't know why you would feel this way. While he coached poorly against everyone else, he held Chip to 27 points total in two games. Chip's O surprisingly was no match for the worst defense in Dallas history.

He also had years of experience against Chip from the college ranks. Something to keep in mind.

Don't worry. Sean Payton would pass the ball in a Tornado.

But would he do it in a Sharknado?

I heard that the Cowboys defense was historically bad this season. Is this true?

No.

Yes they were. Historical in franchise sense. Franchise worst in total yards allowed and passing yards. Set a couple of records; most games of 500+ yards allowed, and most 1st downs allowed in game.

Really just an all around bad defense start to finish minus 2 Philly games.

This...Ryan should not have been scapegoated to excuse an injury plagued defense.

While true, this defense was even more injury plagued.

Eh, the injury situations were pretty comparable. Dallas' DL was decimated this year, whereas the entire middle of the defense (NT, ILB, S) was obliterated last year.

In which he was slaughtered each outing. This year Eagle fans kept talking how Chip's offense was going to steamroll Dallas. Laughing

The first showing they had 3 points. The second 24. A total of 27 in two games. They AVERAGED 27 points a game against everyone else. Chip's offense was shut down by a geriatric man calling plays to a bunch of street players.

If im not mistaken, when Kiffin went up against Chip in college they were always run over.

So it is strange that he was successful against him in the pros.

Your LB core was pretty much decimated as well. I'd say your whole front 7 was decimated.

How did Dallas fans feel back when Monte Kiffin was hired? I never thought it was a good hire and I'm not very surprised that he's already gone.

Some liked. Some hated. Most were happy we landed Rod, so that quelled a lot of complained about Old Man Time.

I suppose, but even when they were healthy (or rather, when only Spencer and Ratliff were out) they were still getting eviscerated by Rivers and Peyton. Dallas' defense was pretty good early in 2012.

I would hardly call it being "shut down". Just because we don't score 40 a game doesn't mean the offense was shut down. We didn't play our best ball by any means, but we won the game.

Actually, it isn't. It shows that the level of athleticism at the collegiate level is drastically inferior to that of the NFL. Even though the Cowboys were fielding a bunch of scrubs, they understand the scheme better than the kids at USC did. The Tampa-2 is not an easy defense to pick up. Plus, USC was also dealing with scholarship reductions, so it couldn't field any players.

Not remotely. Garrett should go, Callahan should go as OC, and the entire front office should also go. But it won't happen because Jerry won't fire himself or his idiot son who annual mismanages the salary cap.
