247 top 2016 rankings released.

JoJo Garcia gets a 4*, .93 composite score. Ranked as the #16 DT and #118 prospect nationally.

Nice. Surprised he is rated higher than Green but if early indications stay true, both should be Gophers.

Wasn't he going to Cretin-Derham with Cornell and Transferred?, I remembered working with him at the Adidas Midwest Elite camp. I remember this kid had a heluva physique and demeanor and was really refined for a guy in that age group. He has the frame to get to a good 290 and be a monster, That 4* seems about right

He was did attend Cretin but East Ridge quickly became a recruiting hotbed and his family decided to move out there. 100 percent agree with your post. Has great disruptive ability. Hope he stays home.

Land JoJo and Jamahl in the same class and team them up on the interior?

Excellent body control and stop/start ability. Great with his head/shoulder fakes. Quick feet and good hips. Very advanced. Kid is gonna be a player.

Nagel is the real deal. He's going to be a tough one to land. He is going to be a hot commodity in the Midwest.

MSU landed 3* pro-style QB Brian Lewerke.

Improves our chances with James Morgan IMO. He was listed as "warm" on the Spartans.

Wonder what's with the slow play. Has no offers and most Junior days are coming to an end. Have to wonder why Wisconsin isn't a bigger player at this point as well. If we had a guy like him in our backyard, he would have already been offered.

Lewerke to Michigan State helps. Really hope we go after him hard. *fingers crossed*

As of now, no. Which is a shame. I would rather recruit the west coast than Georgia/Alabama.

Agreed. The staff knows what it is doing though. I think Geographically speaking, Minnesota is a tough sell. If I could afford to live in California I'd probably never come back to Minnesota. It's a much different lifestyle, especially for young people. That said, Drew Wolitarsky and Brock Vereen are the last two guys we got out of the west coast. Two guys that were ready to play early in their career. You'd figure they would want to attack there more aggressively.
