Honestly, if this was last year this would have been a much bigger deal because I felt that Lloyd could still play at a decent level last offseason. I have absolutely no idea why he wasn't signed by any teams last season, especially with all the problems the Patriots at WR. Now that he's been out of the game for an entire year though, I don't like this signing nearly as much. Still good to see that Lloyd is going back to the team he started at, and I think he still has something left in the tank, but last year he would have been a solid #2 or #3 receiver for most teams. That's no longer the case this year

Quitting meaning no one wanted him so he decided to stop

Kind of funny that he is returning to the place he had the least success.

Edit:: after reviewing his stats it's only one of the places he's failed in. Still odd to see him return to the team that drafted him, even if it is 6 teams ago.

I thought there were reports of him turning down teams last offseason, due to him strongly considering retirement.. but I could be mistaken or the reports could be wrong, I guess.

This signing seems to suggest to me they don't trust Quinton Patton or Jon Baldwin more than anything. If Lloyd has completely fallen off, no doubt he'll be just a camp body. But you can't fault the 49ers for seeing if anything's left for the vet minimum.

Someone needs to find his catch against the Giants way back in 05ish. It was called back for holding on an OL guy but it is the best catch I've ever seen

I thought he wasn't that bad for NE 2 years ago, but there was a report saying he had some attitude problems I think?
